Chapter 12 - Wanting to. 《1》

After I and Hannah chatted with each other, it was not long that our teacher was slowly approaching our classroom.

"Everyone, go back to your seats! Our next teacher is here!" Hannah shouted as she closed her book and put it under the table.

They immediately ran to their seats in a hurry knowing the teacher is already near.

"Teacher! Wait!" Echoes could be heard follwed by rapid sounds of steps on the stairs. It was Kian and the rest of the people who were not yet in the classroom, who were running to stall the teacher before the teacher could go in first and consider them late.

Our teacher stopped and looked at them furiously, she stood up straight and still. Holdng her green fan, she pointed to the classroom.

"Hurry!" She shouted in the hallway and they ran as fast as they could. They entered the room panting and sweating so much. I looked at Kian with a look that wanted to attract his eyes but he wouldn't.

>---Kian's---POV------"

"Shit, I can't look. How could I? I'm such a crappy person!" I thought as I grabbed my pen that was in my pocket. But then, I couldn't feel it.

My eyes opened widely and my face was just in shock.

"Crap! I lost my only pen that I brought today!" I mumbled. I started to ask the people around me for one but yhey said they didn't have any. I thought more about where I'd lost it and realized. "Oh no... It's downstairs.... at the café."

I couldn't go down! The teacher wouldn't allow me! I had nothing to do. "I'm doomed." I said.

Then right before the teacher could say anything, I felt a light tapping on my shoulder that came from behind me. I turned around and saw Maria.

"Yes?" I asked. "Here." She handed a pen over quietly. "Oh, thanks!" I replied and looked back as the teacher started to talk.

"Hey son, I've got good news!" Dad said cheerfully after he hung up the telephone that was in the kitchen, which is a couple of feet from me, who was laying on the couch, in the living room, watching TV.

"Yes, Dad? What is it?" I asked as I got to a sitting postion. He sat beside me and held my hand with both of his. "You'll never know what Mr. Thompson told me today." He said.

Mr. Thompson is my dad's boss in the real estate area. I've only seen him once and that was last year. Damn. He was huge, his body and he got a deep voice. This only means bad. Well for me, but not for Dad.

"He invites us to his gym later?" I said in a sarcastic tone but we giggled it off.

"Son, I know you don't really like him but this is important." He released my hand and looked at me with a serious look.

"Fine, what is it?" I said as I rolled my eyes over.

"He promoted me!" He said in the tone that wanted me to be happy with him. But I didn't want to hurt him so I just went with it.

"Really? Wow! I'm proud of you dad!" I happily said.

"There's a catch though." He said as he stood up and turned around. My face grew worried why.

"We have to move by next month." He said as he went over to the dining table and sat down, crossing his legs in a number four position.

"Again?!" I said with a sigh as I banged my body on the couch laying down.

He took a cigarette and lit it up. He started to smoke. And I was never a fan of that.

"Listen. I know you have a lot of friends but this is for your own sake." He raspily said that made the entire room fill up with smoke.

I quickly covered my nose with a pillow and closed my eyes from it. I didn't bother to disturb him. I let him be.

But leaving, I think is what I need right now. It's not that I have to. Well, actually, I have to but I want to.

"Where?" I said to him uncovering my nose but then covering it right after.

"To Northwest City." He said as he blew another puff of smoke.

"Wait what?!" I said as I immediately got up in shock. Then he put out the burning cigarette and threw it in the trash can right beside the table.

"But that's the most develpoed city in the whole country!" I said. I said that mostly because the people there are far far away from who we are here. Not that we're very poor but we only have enough money to sustain our life. And the people there have money enough to feed a whole nation!

"I know." He said while he got up and opened the fridge. He bent in looking for things.

"What do you want to eat?" He asked me.

"Uh... you decide." I reply while I laid down again and turned the volume up.
