Jun Xi sat beside Ming Yue's bed where she was sleeping. Shortly after her little outburst she had fallen asleep and he had carried her home.
He pulled up the bed sheets a little and then stroked her head before he stood up and walked out and over to the gate. He had sensed Yao Yao's and Chen Mei's precense for while outside the gate, however they hadn't dared to knock.
He opened the gate and said, "She's sleeping inside. You can go in if you're quiet."
The two girls nodded and scurried inside.
When they entered the bedroom they sat down quietly next to the sleeping Ming Yue. Chen Mei held her hand while Yao Yao quickly got impatient from just sitting around doing nothing and instead directed her attention to the stuff in her room. But when she didn't find anything interesting to look at she pulled up her legs and began cultivating.
A few hours later Ming Yue woke up and found Chen Mei sitting by her side asleep while Yao Yao was sitting in a lotus position cultivating.
A smile grew on her face as her heart was filled with warmth when she saw her friends.
"You're finally awake." Yao Yao said as she opened her eyes and relaxed her posture.
"En." Ming Yue nodded.
Chen Mei woke up and yawned cutely. And when she saw that Ming Yue had woken up, tears began to well up in her eyes.
"Why are you crying?" Ming Yue said as she cupped Chen Mei's face and helped dry her tears.
"W-When I h-heard you were trapped in a dangerous formation I was so worried." Chen Mei said with her quiet and weak voice.
"You're an idiot. She's fine isn't she?" Yao Yao said and slapped the back of Chen Mei's head.
Chen Mei glared adorkably at Yao Yao as she rubbed the back of her head.
Ming Yue suddenly laughed out loud when she saw this as it seemed they had gotten closer while she was missing. If it was before, Chen Mei would have been a shivering leaf at this moment.
"A-Are you sure you're okay? You've been missing for over a week." Chen Mei said.
A week!? Ming Yue was stunned. How could she have been gone for a week, wasn't it just a day or two? How come she haven't starved to death? From what she could remember she hadn't eaten anything. And with her thoughts on food, her stomach suddenly growled loudly.
"I'm starving! Let's eat something." Ming Yue said and kicked off the bed sheets.
"En." The two girls responded. They had become hungry too after having done nothing but waiting for her to wake up for hours.
As they stepped out of the pavilion they were surprised to see several dishes had already been prepared on the stone table under the small octagonal pavilion. Their eyes glowed from excitement and ran over. They quickly took their seats and began to wolf down the various dishes, well except for Chen Mei who was eating delicately and took tiny bites.
As Ming Yue was basically burying her face in the rice bowl she remembered something and looked up from her bowl. "Yao Yao, do you think you could teach me how to use a flying sword later?"
Normally this would be taught by her martial arts teacher. However, she was in a rather particular situation as she was training with the youngest generation and they wouldn't begin to cultivate until they reached the age of 13. Which ment they also wouldn't learn how to use a flying sword until then either. And as most children in the youngest generation were only around six years old, she would have to wait for seven years. As to the reason they waited until they turned 13 before they started cultivating was because spiritual energy slowed down aging and nobody wanted to be an adult and still look like a child. Well, there was always exceptions, but at least not in the Righteous Sword Sect.
She could only sigh helplessly at her situation where she had the cultivation of a 13 year old but the martial arts of a 6 year old. Of course, now she had inherited The Nine Crescent Moon Sword Arts, but couldn't use them out in the open and had to keep it a secret from her fellow sect members.
"Of course, leave it to me!" Yao Yao said and continued to gobble down food.
After having finished eating the three girls stepped out on the lawn, where Yao Yao pulled out a flying sword out of her spatial ring and then laid it down in the grass.
Ming Yue looked at the flying sword which looked just like a regular sword except the blade was a little wider. It could be used as a regular sword however more often than not it wasn't as good as a sword that had been purposely crafted for sword fighting.
"It's really simple," Yao Yao said as she began explaining, "just stand on the sword and cycle your spiritual energy down into your legs and feet. The rest will come naturally after that. It's really not that difficult."
"Okay." Ming Yue bit her lower lip as she stepped on the flying sword. She was rather nervous she would accidentally shoot off into the sky like a cannon ball or something similar. Then she carefully began to cycle her demonic qi into her legs and once she felt it enter the flying sword she felt as if her feet had just turned into a pair of magnetic boots that sucked the sword to her feet. She added a little more and the flying sword began to rise above the ground. She was shocked by how amazing and magical it was, yet she was still only about an inch above the ground. She was also surprised by how sturdy it was. She had imagined it to be like balancing on a walking line, but instead it was more like standing on a skateboard. She then leaned a little forward and added a little more demonic qi to her left leg and she began to move forward very slowly. Then she leaned back a little and the sword began to turn to the right.
After a few minutes of flying around she felt like she began to get a hang of it.
"This is fun!" Ming Yue said.
Yao Yao looked bored. How was this flying? She hadn't moved over an inch above ground and was moving so slowly a baby could crawl past her. She remembered the first time she used a flying sword, it took her only a minute before she shot off into the skies. Though, she crashed into a tree later when she was going in for the landing.
Meanwhile, Chen Mei covered her eyes with her hands as she peeked through her fingers. She had also learned how to use a flying sword, but when she thought back on her first time her whole body shivered. She had always had trouble controlling her spiritual energy and it often either was too weak or too strong. So the first time she stood on a flying sword it didn't move at all at first, then she shot off like a bullet which scared the life out of her and she crashed into the ground. Luckily, she didn't get hurt. After that incident, it took over a month before the teacher managed to convince her to continue practicing.
Ming Yue landed and then stepped off the sword and picked it up and walked over to Yao Yao. "Thanks." She said and was about to give the sword back to her when Yao Yao stopped her and pushed it back to her.
"Keep it. I already have a much faster and better flying sword and have no use for that one any longer." Yao Yao said.
"Really?" Ming Yue's eyes sparkled.
"Just buy me dinner or a drink if you want to thank me." Yao Yao said.
"It's a deal!" Ming Yue said.
