Ming Yue couldn't remember how she got home to her bedroom in the Sky Pavilion.
Jun Xi sat her down on her bed and adjusted the pillow before having her lean back. Then he pulled up the bed sheets around her.
With a small wave of his hand he produced a tray with warm wine out of nowhere and placed it on the floor. Then he filled a cup. "Drink this."
Ming Yue's eyes never left him as she calmly watched him pampering her. She took the warm cup and took a few sips. She felt the warm wine flow down her throat into her stomach and then felt as a comforting heat radiated out from her stomach and soon reached every limb of her body. A healthy flush appeared on her face.
Seeing her finish the wine, Jun Xi helped her lie down and then tucked her inside. Then he sat by her side, his gaze lingering on her face as she slowly drifted off to sleep.
Ming Yue couldn't remember what she dreamt when she was suddenly startled awake. "Jun Xi!" She called out and reached out blindly and felt she grabbed onto something. When she came around, she realized Jun Xi was sitting beside her bed asleep or in deep cultivation, and she had just grabbed his arm.
Looking around the dark room she realized it was in the middle of the night. She looked at Jun Xi again with a little surprise, 'Did he stay here all this time?' Warm feelings bubbled up inside her heart as she lied down again, her eyes never leaving him and still holding his arm. She looked at his handsome face that was so comforting to look at.
She thought she was truly lucky to have met him. She didn't know how she would've survived in this strange new world if it weren't for him. Her thoughts traveling to the little world experience she had of this world and to that small poor village she visited with Yao Yao. What if she didn't meet Jun Xi and instead ended up in such a small poor village. How hard wouldn't her life have been then? Instead she was brought here where she didn't have to clean or cook and food and clothing was all given to her for free. Well, she did have to wake up and train martial arts early every morning, but now as she thought about it, it wasn't too bad. It was quiet fun to train martial arts and get to know more about this world and other stuff during the classes, and her young classmates were quiet cute too. The only reason she disliked it was because she was a rather lazy person who liked to sleep in during the mornings and preferred to spend her time napping on a couch and watch TV or read a good book. She had always been a person who needed someone to constantly push her if she was to get something done. In her previous life she had lived with her grandmother as her parents passed away when she was too young to remember. And her grandmother always spoiled her, let her do whatever she wanted, which in her case wasn't much at all, but to laze about. Almost every day she would wake up, go to school, go home, do some homework, and then crash on the couch where she'd either watch a drama or read a book. She didn't really have any close friends, they were all mostly just classmates that only hanged out during the breaks. She did have a best friend when she was young, a girl who was her neighbor, but when she and her family moved away to another town they lost contact. After that, she always kept people at a distance, not letting them get too close her, not realizing perhaps this was because she was afraid she'd one day loose them. Every time when one of her classmates asked her out or to come home with her to hang out, she always avoided the issue or said she had something else to do. It wasn't until she came to this world she began to open up to the idea of getting new close friends, she wasn't sure why, but perhaps it was because in this world she didn't have her grandmother or her TV or books, and therefor opened up to having friends again. Coming to a new world had opened her heart and she felt the possibilities and paths to take were endless.
The next morning when Ming Yue awoke she found Jun Xi still sitting beside her.
"You're awake." He said and caressed her head. "Let's have breakfast and then I'll take you to a place."
Ming Yue was sitting in the small octagonal pavilion in the courtyard, gobbling up food, when she asked, "Where are you taking me after breakfast?" She mumbled as her cheeks were bulging.
Jun Xi was quiet for a while, then he looked into her eyes. "I'm taking you to meet the man who attacked you yesterday."
Ming Yue's chewing abruptly stopped as her face paled. The images and feelings of what happened the day before flashed before her eyes. Then she suddenly felt someone grab her hand and she came back to the present.
"Ming Yue." Jun Xi squeezed her hand and then continued, "You must learn how to deal with situations like this. You can't be like you were yesterday. You must learn how to defend yourself and how to fight for yourself. Unexpected and dangerous situations can and will occur at any moment and you have to learn how to deal with them on your own." Jun Xi sighed as he saw her blank look. How should he make his thoughts get through to her?
He grabbed her shoulders firmly and stared into her eyes, "Ming Yue. You have to become stronger! When you travel the world there are countless number of people out there who wants to harm you when you meet them. They will say and do inexplicable things to beat you down and make you submissive, but in the end it's all up to you whether their words or actions truly affect you. Yesterday, you met such a person, and now you have to decide. Will you face him or forever let him become a ghost in your mind?"
