Chapter 29 - Chapter 29

The next morning when Ming Yue woke up she wanted to die, or at least crawl into a deep hole in the ground and hide.

She heard Jun Xi's footsteps approaching her room and quickly threw the bedsheets over her head as she silently cursed the heavens.

"Ming Yue?" Jun Xi spoke softly.

Ming Yue's whole body froze up. What do I do? What do I do? Then she felt him crouch down beside her and his hand grab the bedsheets.

"N-No!" Ming Yue suddenly shouted as she pulled the bedsheets back with all her strength.

Jun Xi frowned. What was going on? Didn't she think things through yesterday? "Ming Yue, what's wrong?"

"I-I'm sick... yes, sick. I can't go to martial arts training today!" Ming Yue quickly lied.

Jun Xi furrowed his brows, then his body suddenly turned stiff when he realized what was going on.

Ming Yue suddenly felt his precense leave the room. Whats going on? No way he'd give up that easily. She peeked out from underneath the bedsheets, but he was truly gone. She sighed with relief and wiped some cold sweat from her brows. But just as she had relaxed he entered the room once again. Her heart almost skipped out of her chest!

Jun Xi carried a stove which had a few burning coals and hot stones on it and placed it next to the bed. Then he took a towel and wrapped several hot stones and put them by her side.

When Ming Yue saw what he was doing and realized he knew what she was trying to hide she was so embarrassed her whole face turned into a tomato.

"Use this while I go to the Materials and Supplies building. I'll be back soon." Jun Xi said before he stood up and left again.

Jun Xi flew off into town and then walked up to the second floor of the Materials and Supplies building.

Madam Su, a middle-aged woman who was a little on the rounder side was currently restocking the shelves when she noticed Jun Xi coming up the stairs. A glowing smile appeared on her face as she dropped what she was doing and walked up to him and greeted him with a bow. "To think little Xi'er would finally honor this lowly one with his presence." She giggled mischievously.

Jun Xi's expression turned a little complicated. The woman before him had taken care of him for a few months when he was a child and was probably the woman that was closest to a mother-figure in his life. However, as he grew up they slowly grew apart and he didn't visit her as often as he probably should.

Back then when he was a child, he was an orphan with no memories when a few disciples of the Righteous Sword Sect found him and brought him back to the sect. And before they knew what to do with him, he stayed with Madam Su for a few months before he joined the youngest generation and began to stay in the dorms.

Jun Xi sighed helplessly as he realized this was all a prank on him for her to get an excuse to see him and embarrass him.

Every month the Materials and Supplies building would provide daily necessities for its disciples. The disciples who lived in the dorms had to visit this place by themselves and pick up their daily necessities while those who had masters would get the daily necessities delivered to their pavilions.

Now it was obvious to him that they had "accidentally" forgotten to deliver Ming Yue's daily necessities all so that he would be forced to visit her.

When Madam Su saw his troubled face she laughed and grabbed his hands and led him to a small table and sat down. "Don't feel too upset." She said as she poured him some tea.

Jun Xi's eyes landed on the cup as he traced his fingers along its rim. "I'm sorry I haven't been visiting you lately." He said and then brought the cup to his lips and took a sip.

"What are you talking about? I know your busy dealing with important sect business and now that you have a disciple I'm sure you're even busier. So how could you have the time to visit little old me. How is she by the way? Are the two of you getting along?" Madam Su said.

"En." Jun Xi nodded.

Madam Su brought her own cup to her mouth and then said before taking a sip, "I heard she's pretty." Her eyes focused on his face as she said this.

A light twitch appeared on the corner of Jun Xi's lips.

Madam Su smiled behind her cup as if she just confirmed something. "You should bring her with you one day and introduce her to me."

"If you want to meet her, why don't you just come visit my pavilion?" Jun Xi asked.

"N-No. We have to follow the proper procedures." Madam Su responded.

Jun Xi creased his brow. He didn't understand what she was thinking.

The two of them talked some more.

About a half an hour later, Madam Su laughed and said, "We should probably not let your little disciple wait any longer." Then she stood up and entered another room and soon came back carrying a brown paper package and handed it to Jun Xi. "I'll remind them to deliver it to your pavilion next month." She said as if her conscious was completey clear and she hadn't planned this all along.

"Sure. Thanks." Jun Xi said and left.

Back in the Sky Pavilion, Ming Yue was still lying in her bed completely still. She didn't dare to move and make a greater mess. She was still trying to decide if she should wait for Jun Xi to come back or if she should find her own solution.

But before she could decide, Jun Xi came back and entered her room. He sat down next to her and unpacked a brown paper package that contained various daily necessities. There were some toothbrushes, toothpaste, some oils that were good for moistening the skin and hair, some nail files, some makeup, and a few small jade bottles with pills.

When Ming Yue first saw the daily necessities she thought she had been saved. But when she didn't see any sanitary pads or something similar she thought she was going to cry. She looked up at him with sad puppy eyes, "W-Where is..."

But before she had time to finish the sentence, Jun Xi put a small jade bottle in her hands. "Take this pill once a month and it will stop your... problem." Then he stood up. "I'll get you some hot water and a few towels."
