The next day.
Shihuan woke up early and went to the kitchen to help his mother out.
"Good morning," he greeted.
"Oh, morning."
They both started preparing the breakfast.
She was the only one that knows Shihuan could cook, even prepare delicious meals.
*
Xueyan got dressed and dressed her little princess too.
While they were both busy getting ready Yuxi stretched, and looked at clock, when she saw the time, she jumped straight out of bed singing morning to the mother and daughter and running into the bathroom.
Qingran giggled seeing her aunt's reaction.
Ten minutes later, everyone was seated in the dinning area.
"Are you going out?" Mrs Bai asked Yuxi.
Yuxi nodded her head in agreement.
The woman was surprised, she darted a look at Xueyan and back at Yuxi. "Yanyan, do you know about it?"
"No, no."
Yuxi frowned, "Now, does that mean I can't go out?"
"This is not our city." Shihuan interjected.
"Well, I'm well familiar with it. Remember we all lived here before. So..."
The whole table fell silent.
"I'm going to find a job," she said instead of continuing on the topic of them ever living in Shanghai before.
"Good, good. Make sure to find one before returning." Mr Bai said.
They continued eating.
After some minutes Xueyan stood up and carried Qingran along with her they waved bye and left.
*****
Yuxi on her quest to find work, went to different companies.
At first company, she wasn't accepted because she hadn't worked anywhere before. So they believed she couldn't handle the position that will be given to her.
The second company rejected her saying they had enough computer graduates and didn't wish to take in more.
The same thing at the third.
She dragged her wobbly leg to the station and sat down like she had walked a thousand mile.
She looked down on the heels angrily. They made her toes hurt badly.
When the bus arrived, she was lost in her world and before she recovered from it the bus left.
"Wait! Wait!" She yelled, but the bus had driven away.
"Oh no! Now I have to wait for another bus..." She watched different cars drive pass and suddenly felt the urge to have a car of her own.
Hmph, it's not so easy though...
She sat there waiting for another bus to arrive.
*****
At the hotel after coming out from the first room she just cleaned, she bumped into the manager.
"I'm sorry sir," Xueyan apologized.
He nodded and walked away, but after walking some distance he stopped and went back to her. "You are..."
"Bai Xueyan, sir."
The man made and oh sound.
"You are a housekeeper?"
"Yes sir."
There was nothing to talk to her about so he left after she confirmed she was a housekeeper.
Why would the lady from yesterday ask for this lady to serve her? Did this Bai Xueyan somehow offend her? Maybe she did and the Young Miss thought she was a waitress... Crazy how people thinks. Oh well, thankfully she isn't a waitress or we'd have to save her from crazy customers.
He walked away shaking his head.
Xueyan watched him for a while, then started pushing her truck away.
The sky suddenly turned black, bringing out thunder and lightening.
It started pouring heavily outside.
Xueyan looked out of the room window and felt disturbed.
Qingran was only dressed in thin clothes and didn't have any back up clothing.
There was no news about it pouring today and it didn't even shower...
Almighty, how am I going to do this. Please protect my little princess.
Well, the Lord truly answers prayer from pure hearts.
At the school,
Qingran sat with her arms folded, other kids too had their arms folded and shivering from the cold. While some parents rushed in and dressed their children up.
Outside the school. A black FW car came to a stop and Jiuwen ran into the school.
F*ck! This rain came without a warning and now I'm all drenched up.
She ran straight to Zhihao class.
When the little boy saw her, he smiled and she did the same.
"Little Young Master, are you cold?"
Zhihao shook his head, "I'm not cold one bit."
She chuckled softly, "You are the wind yourself and your father is iceman, how is it possible for you to be cold?"
Zhihao giggled.
All of a sudden Jiuwen stopped laughing and thought about something.
She went out and called Riuwen to come to the school.
She waited for him and after fifteen minutes he arrived, passed her a sweatshirt and windbreaker. "Don't tell me you came to the school empty handed."
"No. I mean yes. I ran to the school without thinking." She lied and ran off.
Riuwen felt that something was wrong with his sister. He went back to the car and waited for her to come out.
Jiuwen stopped at almost every class, peeping into it.
After the seventh class, she saw the person she was looking for. The little girl was shivering in the cold. Not only her, about two other kids too.
She went in, bowed slightly to the teacher and went straight to her desk. "Qingran?"
Qingran looked up immediately and saw it was the aunty that had paid for her drawing. She couldn't even smile as the cold was already penetrating into her skin.
Jiuwen stooped a bit and covered the little girl, patted her head and smiled.
At that moment the other kids parents arrived and dressed their kids up in thick clothing.
When Jiuwen saw that she then happily put the sweatshirt on for Qingran and also the windbreaker.
Qingran blew at her hands and rubbed them together, bringing the warmth they lacked just some minutes ago back.
Finally she was able to smile. "Thank you Aunty,"
Jiuwen was speechless because she didn't expect that. "...ok."
She stood up, waved at Qingran and left.
Qingran waved back.
When she came out, she saw a car headlight blink twice.
Riuwen wound down the car window.
"Get in!" He yelled out.
