When Jiuwen got home, she saw their house light all switched off... Did Riuwen switch them all off? She wondered.
She strode to the door and gently pushed it open, not wanting to make a single noise.
The room was in total darkness. She turned around after closing the door, headed toward the stairs and the light came on, she jumped in fright only to see her brother, sitting with his leg crossed and staring intently at her... There was displeasure on his handsome face.
"Why would you do such a thing? Do you want me to have a cardiac arrest? Hmph?"
He didn't reply.
"Riuwen you should..."
"Who was that girl today?" Riuwen interrupted.
She showed a look of confusion then as if remembering something, her eyes widened a bit... He must have seen me.
"That was Qingran," she had nothing to hide.
Riuwen looked surprised, Qingran... Bai Qingran.
"Xueyan's child?"
Jiu nodded.
He cast his lids down and thought for a while. "Okay. Good night. I had thought..."
"She was my child?"
He grinned at her, "Yes, you had been gone long enough. Enough to have had a child as big as her."
Jiu frowned. "Father said it's high time you get married. You should be preparing for that."
He scowled at her, then walked away.

The next day, Xueyan woke up to a message in her phone, the instant her eyes opened, she saw the phone light dimming. She looked down at her side and saw Qingran still sleeping, Yuxi was already up as she wasn't on the bed anymore.
She looked at the phone on the bedside table before picking it up,
Now she believes he's mad. How can he be so shameless as to send her this? He was a married man for F*ck sake. She ignored the message, she wouldn't dare to reply.
As she was dropping the phone back on the bedside table, she realized she was trembling. Her heart pounding heavily against her chest.
She rubbed her eyes and opened them again.
She hoped he wasn't expecting her reply... She hadn't touched him in a while now... Oh the day he followed her. And what is it about my skin? Zhaolin must have gone mad! Yes, why else would he send me such a text...
She grabbed the phone wanting to send a message and another message came in.
Xueyan stared with widened eyes at the phone until the screen dimmed and went black. She still held the phone in her hand.
Qingran stirred by her side, Xueyan flinched and dropped the phone to the floor. It hit the bedside table and bounced a bit... It must have cracked.
"Mom, are you alright?" Qingran asked, she sprang up from the bed, coming forward to hold her mother's hand.
Xueyan recovered from her shock and smiled a bit at the little girl before nodding her head.
Qingran watched her for a bit, before climbing into her embrace, "Good morning," she said quietly.
Xueyan nodded and beamed, "Good morning my little Princess, how are you?"
"Fine,"
Yuxi came out of the bathroom and saw the phone on the floor, she picked it up and turned the front. It was broken. Broken and malfunctioning. She had heard the commotion from the bathroom and dried her body up immediately and rushed out.
She looked up at Xueyan, Xueyan face was calm.
It's good the phone is broken. She won't receive his messages any more... She was thankful to the almighty. Xueyan thought.
Yuxi got ready to go on her quest for job again, today. She would try out the bigger corporation today... Even if she was to be a clerk, then she wouldn't mind.
Xueyan took Qingran to the bathroom and bathed her, dressed her and went outside to prepare something for her little princess.
Qingran smiled all the way through.
Before her mother could wake up, Xueyan with the help Shihuan had offered prepared breakfast for everyone.
They all sat at the table, excluding Yuxi.
They waited and when she finally came out, she was dressed in a pink shirt and black knee-length skirt.
Everyone looked surprise except Qingran. Yuxi had never dressed this formal before. The previous day she went in search of work, she had been dressed in blazer and pant. They must not have taken her seriously.
She smiled a bit awkwardly at them and took large steps to the door, "Won't you have your breakfast?" Her father asked.
She shook her head.
"Hold on, I will give you a lunch pack." Xueyan said and went into the kitchen, grabbed a flask and stuffed some foods into it.
She handed it to Yuxi and went back to her chair.
"You shouldn't walk like that," their mother said.
Yuxi ran to their table, "Bless me," she said to Qingran and watched the little girl giggle.
"You are blessed, aunty."
Yuxi kissed her head and looked toward her parents, "Bless you." They both said.
"Good luck." Xueyan chimed in.
"Congratulations in advance." Shihuan winked at her.
Yuxi beamed, with the well wishes of her family, she would surely get a job.
She went out of the door, and into the hot morning sun.
Fifteen minutes later, Xueyan left after Shihuan took Qingran to school.
When they were left alone, Mrs Bai decided to bring up the topic of them moving to Shanghai.
"I really think we should move here," she started. "We will all be together and happy..."
"In a hotel apartment that was given to Xueyan?" Mr Bai asked.
"...We will move out. But we shouldn't be so far."
"I also like the idea, but..."
"No buts. In a week time, Shihuan's teammates will all move to Shanghai. Yuxi will find a work here and stay here... What will we be doing back there without our children and our only grandchild? If we stay here in Shanghai, we can help take care of Qingran. Xueyan will focus more on work and come visit during the weekend... Is that too much?"
