In the heart of district Saitama in J country stands a three-story building. This building is home to a self-defence studio and an Aerobic studio found on the first floor, with the second floor being where English lessons take place, ranging from beginners' to advanced level. The third and fourth floors are housing apartments.
It is a Monday evening, a little after seven O'clock. Second floor, room two.
A young woman is standing in front of a room full of people, giving English lessons. It is a beginner's class, English 101. Her students for the evening class range from 18 years to 50+ years.
The young lady has been in charge of this English 101 class for a little less than six months and she has become familiar with her students. Her students reason for learning English varies, half of them are a working-class group who is learning the language for professional reasons, with a few being stay-at-home moms or students who want to visit some foreign countries where English is the native language, thus making it a whole lot easier to communicate natively, while others are doing it for better communication with their foreign friends and others through social media ...
The lessons generally runs for an hour and a half. This day's lesson is interesting and noisy as it is interactive. It's a lesson in relations with 'speech pattern, and the J natives finds it hard to pronounce words in English but they aren't the shy types who is afraid to learn so they push through along with their mistakes. Fortunately, for them though, they have a teacher who speaks their language like a native and she is extremely patient in teaching them pronunciations.
She is truly good at her job, "they all think".
An hour and a half rapidly passes by and it's eight thirty pm. The lesson is over and everyone is saying their farewell to the teacher for the night and they are leaving.
As everyone is leaving, the young lady moves to stand by the window, looking at the night scene. The young lady seems to be in deep thoughts that five minutes pass in a blink and she doesn't notice. She just stares outside the window without moving or making a sound. All one can hear is her regular breathing.
About 10 minutes later, she hears her class's doorknob turning, which startles her into turning back with a glare so obvious and strong that it scares the person who opened the door in his steps.
When she sees that it's one of her students, she retracts her glare and she gazes narturally at her student who walks in.
The man that enters the room stops in his steps for a moment as he feels a chill run down his spine. This confuses him for a moment as the room is warm and the chill only ran for a fraction of a second.
Thinking nothing of it, he walks inside the room where he sees his teacher still in the room. He walks towards his seating place as he talks to his teacher.
"my apologies Ms. Jones, I forgot my keys"
No, no Mr. Takeshi, there's nothing to apologize for...
"Thank you Ms, I will just get my keys and leave.
" You have a good night, Ms. Jones.
Goodnight too Mr. Takeshi, I'm looking forward to seeing your homework tomorrow.
"ha ha ha" miss, I will try my best on the homework. Bye.
Jun Takeshi is one of her best students. The man is diligent and has been to every class since they opened for business. He works for a big company and the company is doing an exchange program with foreign people, so to be able to communicate properly with the foreign employees, he is hoping that learning English will be advantageous.
The young lady sigh loudly.
"Hopefully I can teach him enough, all of them, as a matter of fact," she says.
The young lady looks outside the window again as she hears footsteps walking towards her classroom.
"Yo, Aisha, are you done?, I'm hungry, let's go out to eat".
Calls out a man in his late twenties.
The young lady sighs again and looks back at the man.
She asks him, "Brian, didn't you just eat two hours back?
" yes but I'm hungry again, that was just an appetizer. Let's go, hurry.
" fine. I'm coming, sheesh.
She lets out a sigh again and walks towards the door while thinking.
" It's been 15 months since we took our new identities and Brian is still as gluttonous as ever".
