" don't forget that I know you, I know you more than anyone else, we have been friends for a long time. I might not know you completely but I believe I know you enough. So, tell me, you have been like this since morning, what's wrong?
Once Brian says this, he stares at her, waiting…
"I know you more than anyone else"
This sentence echoes in Aisha's mind for more than a breath as she stares back at Brian. She thinks back to what he just said and she realizes that it is indeed true. He is her best friend and no one else knows her better than he does.
Aisha gives in and she then lets out a huge sigh before she starts talking.
"you are right. Something is wrong but I am not sure what it is exactly. Since waking up in the morning, I have been feeling out of sorts. I'm feeling unsettled right now and I'm not sure what to do about it.
She lets out another sigh as she continues..,
"you should also know that whenever I have this feeling, it means that something is about to happen. Whether bad or good, I do not know".
After listening to what Aisha said, Brian straightens up and agrees
"you are right. It's been like this since I have known you. Your intuition is always spot on.
" Though you have not felt like this in the past year and a half, am I right? Brian asks.
Aisha takes a cup of water that's on the table and takes a sip before answering his question.
" yes, I have not had this feeling in the past year and a half and honestly speaking, since taking on our new identities, I hoped to never again get this kind of unsettling feeling again.
Brian leans forward and takes her hand in his as he says
" I know, I also wished for you to never experience that feeling again. It would have been better if you never had that feeling again, for both our sake, but as you know, nothing ever stays the same.
At least you had a reprieve. Now that it's over and done with, then let whatever comes, come.
You are a strong person, whatever it is, you will deal with it, besides, your best friend, I, is here to deal with whatever comes with you.
So, stop worrying and cheer up, ok?
"I guess you are right. Whatever comes will come. All I can do is deal with it. Indeed, we will deal with it together. Aisha agrees as she squeezes his hand and let go.
" Indeed we will. Echoes Brian.
"now that, that is over and done with, can we eat, I am about to perish due to hunger and my sukiyaki has gone cold too, jokes Brian.
Aisha agrees with him while saying
"just imagine what those people from the organization and the underworld will say when they hear that Ghost died due to hunger.
Gosh, just thinking about it is making me laugh"
Aisha says as she chuckles.
"not funny Aisha", Brian says as he glares at her, but he is happy that she doesn't look gloomy anymore.
Aisha agrees with him and tells him
"let's eat. I will also accompany you while you drink to your heart's content…
They eat until they are full, meanwhile, Brian is also drinking his booze. He drinks until he is slurring his words and Aisha is there to accompany him.
After an hour of eating and drinking and talking about random things, they pay their bill, bid the waiter goodnight and leave the restaurant to go back to their apartment.
They enter the three-story building and takes the stairs to the fourth floor which is where their apartments are. Getting to the fourth floor, they decide to watch a movie in Aisha's apartment, so they head over.
They decide to watch some horror flick and while Aisha is in the midst of choosing the movie, Out of nowhere, Brian blurts out a question that startles her,
"hey Aisha, how did you get involved with the supernatural?
Asks brian…
