"Hey look, here's the light switch." Her dad exclaimed from at the top of the stairs. His wrist flicked up on the wall and made the lights, which were dimmed and dusted over from age, turn on. "See honey, you must just be tired. Make sure you get ready for bed early tonight." He said while walking down the steps, giving her a reassuring grin.
"Ya dad, I'll get right on it." She said with a fake smile, just real enough that it convinced her father as he walked back with his can of bug spray. She knew for a fact she can't be tired. Not THAT tired at least. She had just slept for twelve plus hours on the trip, so that could not be an option. But, she didn't want to worry her parents farther then she already has, so she reluctantly snatched her bags again and proceeded to head up the stairs for a second time.
Her hairs stood on end as she slowly walked up. She did not want to see what she had touched, but she was also curious, so, as she reached the top of the stairs, which was now lit up with a dim light, she turned her head to the spot her hand had touched the "hand." Her her heart stopped for what seemed a second time today, as she looked at the empty spot that she swore she felt something. Nothing. Not a hand, not a object she could have mistaken for a hand, just and empty wall.
'Ok, just got to stay calm.' She said to herself in her head, trying to stop her from screaming. Anna, who was still freaked out, started walking to the closed door to her right. She noticed the door had dents in them, that had been freshly painted over to try and cover it up. She found this a little weird but, like the rest of the house, everything was strange.
