Chapter 15 - She has purple eyes

I sit in the cell thinking about everything. But mainly I think about the last story I heard after I was taken to Fangs mansion and I woke up from that nightmare and he held me till I fell asleep. I remember he didn't finish telling me the story till almost 2 weeks later. Even then, he said there was still more to tell.

"There was a time when humans and vampires coexisted. A time where it was peaceful. It was that way until on the most unholy of nights a young married woman decided to help a stranger. She didn't know who this man was. But she didn't care; she decided that helping a person in need would be a great deed. It never occurred to her just what this handsome stranger was. She just decided to lead him to where he asked. They finally showed up at an abandoned house and she felt quizzical as to why a man like him wanted to find this place so bad. The man thanked her kindly by taking her hand and kissing her knuckles gently. It wasn't until she started to walk away that she felt too dizzy and blacked out. When she woke up, she was tied to a bed and was endlessly raped whenever the man felt the need for pleasure. Sometimes the woman would cry out for her husband to come and save her but the pleas of help were useless.

She stayed there for a while. Not one day went by when she didn't think about what it'd be like if she never helped the handsome stranger.

She finally gave up hope that somebody would come find her. He started to show her affection as well as letting her loose. He started to give her a bit of freedom; something she only dreamed of. She did not come to realize that the handsome man in fact was brainwashing her. One day the woman fell ill and her body kept rejecting nutrients. The handsome man became distant and stopped caring for her. He decided that he didn't want the woman anymore because of her sickness so he took her back where he found her. From there she was discovered and admitted to a hospital where she had a series of tests done. It was then discovered that the woman was 4 months pregnant; the woman hated herself. They found out that she was married and sought out her husband. When the husband arrived, he fell to his knees in front of her hospital bed and cried. He felt that he failed her because she was missing for so long and what had become of her.

He soon found out that she was pregnant and he became furious. He thought she was no more than a whore after that. But since she was his wife he forgave her and accepted her back into the house after she had confessed her sins to a preist.

It was the preist himself who knew just what that man was because he too was what had kidnapped the young woman. It was the first time a vampire had ever decided to mate with a human. The vampire preist went out and found the vampire who kidnapped the young woman and killed him.

I remember I had fallen asleep in his arms and bitterly smiled. I regret leaving with that girl. She was right behind me but she never came through the portal with me. I later found out Fang yanked her back at the last second and he tried to question him but she slipped through his fingers like smoke and ran. He told me he searched but she was gone. As if she was never there. I get off the rickety bed and walk over to the so called window with bars on it and look outside at the full moon. Its so big and beautiful.

I start thinking about the story again.

"Time went on and the woman started to grow more and more. Her husband didn't want the woman to birth the child but because they were people of faith; she refused his request and asked for him to accept the child as his own. After endless fights, he finally agreed and they anxiously awaited the birth of the child.

The vampire priest would often visit to monitor the pregnancy; he wouldn't say what the child was either. It would cause havoc if the woman knew she was carrying a "monster".

It would be disdainful.

Unheard of.

In their eyes: an ultimate sin.

The woman didn't ever suspect that she was able to hold anything down because of what the priest brought her. He always has to fight with himself not to drink the soups he'd make for her with blood in them. It was the only way she could carry without any problems that would raise questioning.

He was curious what this half human half vampire would be like. He's heard legends about them being dangerous. More so than the full vampires.

On one moonless night the woman woke to abdominal pains that caused her to cry out in ear piercing shrieks. The husband took his wife to the hospital being only at 8 months and 2 weeks.

She was going into labor and was terrified. She'd never had a child before.

The priest heard the news of her labor beginning. He already knew it wouldn't be a full term like most pregnancies. The child however is fully developed and ready to come out. The woman however; she might not make it through the night.

He arrived at the small hospital to hear her shrieks of pain. The husband looking anxious spoke that the doctors said that something was wrong.

He already figured. The child was trying to rip its way out instead of coming the normal way.

He quickly told the husband he'd check on her and proceeded to the labor room.

These nurses not know what they are to do. The caregiver shall die if nothing is properly done.

He spoke to the nurses and they agreed to what needed to be done. Instead of a normal birthing she will be cut open and have the child removed to prevent more complications.

After an hour the child was removed and just like that fed off the mothers nutrients.

To my astonishment the child had no signs of her vampirism.

Except when she finally opened her eyes, the nurses and mother gasped as well as one fainted from shock.

She has purple eyes!"

I heave out a sigh and find my way back to the jail bed. I know I can get out of here at any given moment but I choose not to.

When I said I was giving up magic I meant what I said.

I've learned how to use it so I don't get out of control.

I'll only leave here when I'm bailed out by whoever or I finished my time.

Which is basically 4-5 years.
