In the small country known as Eva, here is a prestigious school for powerful youths. This school is called Autom High.
As it seems, Autom was once in the middle of a cold and relentless winter. The winter proved to be a tough and stalwart barrier between the students and their respective goals. The coldness was comparable to the centre of an iceberg, it was horrendous; the area was on its knees.
Rather than giving up on their studies, a most of students pushed on in their studies and tried their best to survive the harsh winter.
The scene of the hallways was rather frenzied as students all rushed to their classes to receive the blessings of ducted heating; not a single soul was oblivious to the dangers of staying out in the cold.
Although, those with fire related abilities thrives while others scrambled for warmth. During this harsh period, those with the power of the flame that were considered as the weakest, gained favour like they had never experienced before. It was this ability advantage that illustrated the daily life of the world's society.
The world only care if a person was useful, if one was not usable, they simply were not noticed. In the harshness of the winter, flame users were the most powerful; but in the heat of the summer, cold type ability users were favoured. A person with the power of warmth and cold would instantly become a centrepiece within the hierarchy, being favoured by the most powerful of the school. Even those that were not particularly strong would still be able to become noticeable existences.
But with the invention of modern technology, such things became trivial. However, in a school that was founded to breed powerful individuals, things such as heating and cooling were deliberately left out of the building designs.
However, the changing seasons were not the most important factor of the school hierarchy, no; the world hierarchy. The most valued factor was whether one could fight, whether they could negotiate, whether they could crush their obstacles. As such, the curriculum centres around the intellectual and combat arts.
Those that attend Autom are some of the most notable youths. Either being rich and influential, dashing negotiators, masters of the martial arts, perfect intellectuals, natural schemers, and those that stood out in other ways. None were of exception to this rule, everyone had a role they specialised in.
Every person is born with at least 3 abilities, usually possessing excess if a person has higher PQ.
The overall combat potential of a person was ranked from 'low' to 'elite', proving to be an effective system in most cases. The low ranks could be anywhere from 1PQ (power quotient) to 20PQ, while elite ranks possessed a PQ Of 91-100. In this way people were ranked accordingly.
"Vale, have you finished the report on Willis' loss to a mid-high rank?"
Vale, a second year student with black hair and a slim build, turned his swivel chair 180 degrees to face the newspaper's leader.
"Luna Dell, I will be finished within an hour. Trust me, I will get it done on time." Vale spoke as he let out a sigh.
Luna held a particularly serious demeanour, wearing her uniform in such a way as to display her devotion to regulation. Her green hair was neat and did not have a single loose end, further expressing her ideals. Throughout the short talk, she never once looked at Vale.
"Good, I need it done soon. Our weekly quota is not something to laugh at." She said loudly as she crossed her arms.
"Neither is my privacy, now please let me get on with my work." Vale pouted.
"Just finish writing, we have much more work to do." Luna walked away with her shoes thumping loudly on the dark blue carpet, showing her annoyed mood.
Vale went back to working, letting no noise hinder his task. Throughout the task he analyses many sources of information, cross referencing facts to ensure the reliability of each fact. The project was definitely difficult, but Vale made it look like 'child's play'. With the turn of an hour, Vale finished the story; proceeding to the main room as soon as he finished.
Walking through a small hallway, he made it through the crowds of students that were engaging in cheerful discussion, and of course those that were not as friendly. Neither types mattered, the task was of upmost importance. After reaching the official newspaper room, Vale proceeded quickly to approached the busy Luna.
"Luna Dell, the story that you have assigned me is now finished." Vale spoke as he handed her a large pile of documents.
Luna quickly sifted through the documents to check their quality, giving off a faint smile as she did. "Vale, this work I good. Make sure to keep it up." Luna spoke with a faint smile.
"Thank you for the praise." He responded.
"Well then, there is nothing else to do this afternoon. So why don't you take a break?" Luna said in a more relaxed manner.
"I thought we were busy?"
"Well we are, but leave that work for tomorrow. Just enjoy your afternoon." Luna insisted.
Vale scratched the back of his head and tilted his skull 20 degrees to his left shoulder, giving off a confused expression. 'This does not seem right.' He thought.
However, he took the opportunity under one condition.
"Surely if there is no more work to do then you can also take the afternoon off." Vale spoke.
"I have work-"
"I knew it! Tell me what is the story?"
Luna sighed as she gave up the excuse, taking out a small folder from her desk.
"Apparently one of the pawns have been beaten by that same mid-low rank." Luna spoke tiredly.
"Surely you are joking. A mid-low rank cannot beat a board member. That mid-low must be a false ranker, it's so obvious! In fact, I have another set of information for you..."
Vale quickly pulled out a set of smaller documents and handed them carefully to the seated Luna.
"Huh? A mid-low rank with a high class explosive ability, a medium level body augmentation ability and a psychic ability? You must be joking!" Luna laughed.
Vale let out a brief chuckle as he proceeded to pull out a small picture from his breast pocket.
"This is the proof." Vale spoke.
He handed Luna a photo of the mid-low student simultaneously triggering the above mentioned abilities, shocking the newspaper head.
"You have got to be kidding me... this kid is as strong as me if he can do that!" Luna shouted.
"Hush! Leave the gossip for the actual paper."
Luna simply smiled at Vale as she collected the sheets, gathering them all in a huge pile.
"Good job, now seriously take a break, you have earned it."
