Chapter 31 - Chapter 31

Irvene's point of view

Ingrid Welsey and Elliza Montliez stayed on their own positions, seemingly observing us. Vaughn took this chance to quickly summon his weapon. His most favorite sword namely, Light Blade. Out of his weapons, only two of those had names and those two weapons were personally made by him.

Before everything would start, I took out my staff and a ring which could restore a bit of magic. Even if it looked useless to others, this thing would help a person, especially a mage when one ran out of magic in crucial times.

Not long after, Elliza wielded her scythe across me followed by Ingrid who was swiftly running toward Vaughn. I stopped watching their fight when I avoided Elliza's sharp scythe.

Elliza's swift and precise movements were incredible, but I could still predict her movements. I often practice with Meryll when we're still studying under the generals and councilors of Soul'e Country, so an incredible speed is not new to me.

When I saved a sufficient amount of magic, I made tiny ice spikes and threw at her direction. I made sure not to transform it into ice blades. That's an ace attack I shouldn't be showing to a mere rich families competition.

Elliza avoided some of them, but it was too swift and large in numbers, so it shot her body many times. To end this fight, I chanted a binding spell to her while she's weak and couldn't avoid a common binding spell which could last for 20 minutes.

However, as simple as it seems, this binding spell could weaken a person bound by it when tried to force herself out. Elliza exactly did it that made herself lose her composure, but then stopped when she felt that she couldn't escape.

Then I turned my direction to Vaughn and Ingrid who's wielding their swords to each other. Student President Ingrid has a quite reliable weapon since it didn't break when Vaughn's sharp Light Blade sword met his weapon.

I decided to stop watching and waste time. I would be of help to bind some students, so Meryll would be able to get their flags easily. But when I thought that my plan would work, a flying scythe is about to hit my face. It's likely to have only one-inch distance toward my face.

I hurriedly touched it and turned it into ice although, I didn't expect for it to break into tiny pieces. Well, it's not entirely my fault if I broke this weapon. She should expect it when she carelessly threw her weapon to an opponent.

I turned my attention toward Elliza. My assumptions were correct. She's the one who threw her scythe to me.

The Vice president of the Student Council shouldn't really be underestimated. The binding spell that I used to her disappeared already!

Elliza Montliez's emotionless disposition seemed to disappear together with the binding spell when she saw her completely broken scythe. Her irritated expression welcomed me.

She summoned another one and ran towards me, although her speed reduced because she tried to get out of the binding spell forcefully.

I moved back and made some huge ice spikes to stop her tracks. Elliza managed to jump through the ice spikes, but it slowed down her pace. The small ice spikes that I planted beneath her landing position was noticed by Elliza and quickly dodged it.

Nonetheless, I made another set of small ice spikes which hit her body once again. This time her strength's falling down a lot since she's pushing her limits.

I hardly breathed after that. I knew that this could be tiring.

"Get back!" I heard a loud noisy man.

Suddenly, I saw Meryll holding a flag and is running swiftly. She ran toward Sid and our other teammates that made the man stop since he was outnumbered.

Once again, she ran towards the other group, but the flag was gone and must already be hidden somewhere.

Four of the enemies ran towards Meryll. Since I'm done with the Vice President of the Student Council, I went through their path and made another small ice spikes when I have enough magic.

Someone with fire element chanted a big ball of fire and I didn't fail to see other students from afar and is ready to attack with a long-distance kind of weapons towards Meryll and I. This is bad!

"Group 1!" I shouted. When I'm sure that my comrades all looked at me, I gave them a hand sign.

A series of explosions echoed through the Magic Arena. The red bottled potions that I gave them contained chemicals that would explode once it was released through the bottle. That wasn't just it, a thick smoke would release from that explosion that would prevent our enemies from attacking us.

"Meryll! Steal all the flag before the smoke vanishes," I said.

"It'll be done in a minute!" Meryll shouted.

I ran throughout the arena and found Sid and the others when the smoke vanished. He's holding a sword and a small cloth is on his face with the three enemies who have been coughing on his side.

"Are everyone okay here?" I asked.

Henry and Dianne nodded while Sid clashed with his enemies once more.

Afterward, Meryll went towards us and showed two flags in her hands.

"I couldn't find the last one in their bases. It seems that the other flag is hidden to an opponent," Meryll said.

"What group has their flag hidden?" I asked.

"It's the Student Council President's group, Ingrid Welsey," Meryll answered.

Well, I wasn't so shocked about that news. Student Council President Ingrid Welsey is a skilled student after all, although his attitude's somewhat different and mysterious.

"I think that the flag is could be found to Ingrid himself," I said.

After I said that, We looked at Vaughn and Ingrid's direction. The battle between them was seemed fair but I saw another two students whose coming in their way. I supposed that they were Ingrid's teammate.

"Let's go towards Vaughn and inform Sid and the rest of our team to follow us. Bring all the flags with you!" I said.

Meryll quickly ran towards our team while I went to Vaughn and the student council president's position.

Normally, the Light Blade sword could cut anything except some unique and rare weapons a person could buy, made or find.

The classifications of weapons are classified based on a book named 'A Weapon's Level' by a famous blacksmith several decades ago. His name was Zeno Estrama who was somewhat related to Vaughn.

For a person who belongs to an elite family and someone who is extremely skilled in Soul'e Magic Academy in his years, it wasn't impossible for Ingrid Welsey to obtain a unique weapon fitted for him.

The only thing that would matter today is individual and group skills.

"As I expected, you weren't some ordinary student and since today is a competition, might as well finish this game," Ingrid said.

The sun once again reflected his glasses and grinned widely.

"We're the ones who will finish this game!" I said.

Afterward, Meryll, Sid, and our other groups stayed behind me.

"President Ingrid, I suppose they have four flags," Student Council Vice President Elliza Montliez said.

Elliza could still stand and fight! But for someone who has drained stamina, she could only support her group and was not entirely a threat to us.

"Hmm, they do have most of the flags but what about those students who wanted to take back their own and steal their flags?" Ingrid Welsey said.

Not long after, the other groups encircled us and they looked among us as a helpless student among them.

I shook my head.

"Sid, the stage is yours," I said.

The proud group of Student Council President looked at me as though it's impossible.

"A blood for a flag," Sid said. His smile is not different but it began to creep me out. Sid Salford's sometimes acted like that and it totally creeped me out.

He summoned two identical swords and ran through the enemy like a walk in the park. Once his Death Swords appeared, blood would scatter.

Although none of them died, they were injured enough that they couldn't fight anymore.

"It's just the two of our groups Student Council President," Vaughn uttered.

Ingrid Welsey looked dumbfounded for a second but maintained his composure after.

"Well, we'll see who would win, " Student Council President Ingrid said.
