Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

Irvene's point of view

We're waiting for too long. It heightened my curiousity as we waited longer. I looked around me and they're waiting patiently. Sister Adelaine was enjoying herself in her tea with a servant on her side.

Then, I called for Vaughn, Sid and Meryll. "Aren't it taking too long?" I whispered.

They nodded in reponse and looked at the direction where the hall gathering is located. I stood up quietly and they followed me. When we attempted to take a step away, we heard Sister Adelaine's voice.

"A little impatient, hmm?" Sister Adelaine said.

Her eyes slowly opened and looked at us. She smiled dearly yet it made us feel the opposite. Until her servant suddenly spoke.

"Milady, it's about time," Sister Adelaine's servant said.

"See? You just have to wait a bit more," She said.

"Let the other servant take care of the chores here, accompany us," Sister continued, pertaining at the servant.

The servant have been obediently following her orders without any doubts in his face. I looked at her. Nonetheless, her servant wasn't wearing our castle's standard uniform. He's wearing a classy one.

"A new personal attendant?" I asked.

Sister Adelaine smiled. "Don't you recognize him?"

My brows furrowed. Nonetheless, my eyes got bigger. If it isn't the 2nd country's young lord, I don't know who he'll be! He got a different style that I didn't notice him this whole time I'm waiting.

"Greetings, the name's Davis Xenon, Milady's servant," he said and bowed.

I suddenly stood awkwardly.

"Oh, I remember now. It's a pleasure to meet Young Lord Davis Xenon di Sapphire," Sid said respectfully.

However, the young lord didn't react although I saw him glared at Sister for a second.

"What's happening?" I whispered to Sister Adelaine.

I'm quiet sure that the Noble House of Sapphire is still at their prime and their young lord being a servant here didn't make sense.

"There's nothing to explain. You wouldn't understand it anyway although, I'll appreciate it if you keep silent," Sister Adelaine said.

"Milady, I suggest we should get inside the gathering hall," Young lord Davis said.

"Oh my, we really are. Let's go," Sister simply said.

We started whispering at each other while Sister and the young lord was walking in front.

"I wonder how your sister made a noble her servant," Sid said amazingly.

"It might be an important matter that we shouldn't intervene," Vaughn simply said.

Meryll chuckled. "I think I know the reason. It's things worth going for," She uttered.

"What is it?" Sid asked.

"Well, I wouldn't tell you. It's a private matter that you wouldn't understand," Meryll answered.

I shook my head. Those two always find their way to quarrel in every occasion. They only stopped when we reached the huge door that leads inside the hall gathering.

When the door opened, Sister and the young lord, walked in and we followed them. Vaughn stood beside me and Meryll and Sid were at our back. We lined up what Sister Adelaine told us earlier.

The stares we're receiving made me utterly uncomfortable and I tried my best not show it in front of numerous people. Some wondered who were Sister Adelaine accompanying to, since we didn't show up at event like this and suddenly become the center of attention at that.

I saw Ingrid whom I believed didn't expect us to appear at this moment.

A councilor led us to our table at the front of the hall. We sat there and afterwards, Brother Maven started speaking whose beside Brother Mavien.

"The final part of the ceremony will finally begin!" Brother Maven said.

Two officials in the castle were holding the crown that symbolizes the authourity and responsiblity of a Ruler. It's a crown that was passed down to many generations to the recent Rulers of Soul'e country.

"May your Majesty be endowed with prosperity," they said.

The other people followed suit.

The hall gathering was filled with satisfaction, for our country finally has a Ruler and no longer an empty seat for the nobles to revolt against each other.

Although, I believe that not all of the people here would entirely agree about the event today. That certain two noble families of Soul'e and among the 12 richest family of Soul'e. Make a wrong move and one wouldn't left unscathed.

Afterwards, Ruler Mavien, my brother, stood up. His authourity could be felt around the hall, reminiscent of our late father.

The loneliness started to linger around me again, nonetheless I suppressed my emotions. I shifted my attention in front. The servants started serving us food and then, I heard Sid's cheerful talks.

"You really think only about food, huh?" Meryll uttered.

"Stop your commotions, Sid and Meryll," Vaughn said.

They hurriedly stop, not expecting Vaughn to shut them. Then, I noticed him looked at me.

"Fine?" he said.

It caught Meryll and Sid's attention. Seeing their serious stare, I hurriedly nodded and started eating.

"As a Ruler, I'll make sure to bring our country to success and ensure harmony among the people," Ruler Mavien said.

"Although, the final part of the ceremony had ended, this gathering would not end soon. I still have an important announcement," he continued.

The hall was filled with confusion and curiosity but didn't dare to voice it out in front of the Ruler. That didn't exclude us.

Did Brother Mavien intended to announce in front about us, four?

"I request for my sister, the youngest lady from the Noble House of Elvina to come in front," Brother Mavien said.

I stood up slowly from my seat.

"Irvene, don't be nervous," Sister Adelaine said.

I nodded. Vaughn escorted me towards Brother Mavien. I could notice another confusion from the people because our other members from our noble house of Elvina were sitting comfortably and the Ruler's announcement didn't fazed, and object at the least.

"Irvene Aly di Lightsoul Elvina, the hidden daughter of the late Ruler Timothy di Lightsoul Elvina. You will be seeing her a lot," Brother Mavien said.

"I hereby announce Irvene Aly di Lightsould Elvina as the Archmage of Soul'e Country!" he continued.

Before I could react, a light appeared from where I stood and an elegant robe appeared from my back. It was the one whom Sister Adelaine tailored for me.

Everything started to make sense. This robe and my dress looked like that of an archmage's clothes!

I looked at Brother Mavien. How will the people react? They didn't even know me, so how they would agree?

"Don't worry, I won't let you become an Archmage if I'm not sure of the outcome," Brother Mavien said.

He sounded calmly and confident. Brother let me sat between Brother Maven and him. The front of the hall gathering had four thrones. The Ruler's throne being the tallest. An empty spot at the left was I suppose Sister Adelaine's seat.

While sitting on the throne he said, "Those who have doubts regarding my announcement could ask questions now."

The hall became quiet. They hesitated to ask until I saw Headmaster Andre Estrama of Estrama family stood up.

"Regardless if she's from the Noble house of Elvina's main family, an archmage qualifications should be immense power and experience. A young lady who still haven't have her coming of age ceremony became an archmage. Our late archmage was in his thirties when he became one, so I suggest your majesty to rethink his decisions," Headmaster Estrama said.

I suddenly felt insulted. Age doesn't completely determine one's talent and powers.

"Irvene, will you let them question your magic powers?" Brother Mavien said.

"Hmm hmm, show them young sister," Brother Maven said.

He's been quiet a while ago then suddenly became talkative.

Nontheless, my lips suddenly turned into a smirk. I won't mind scaring them a little.
