Chapter 1 - She was strong

SHE ALWAYS SMELLED A LITTLE sweet, something like vanilla and caramel. That fragrance was hers to call her own, something that made her feel safe and secure. Something that reminded her of her mother's loving arms.

Summer Kingston was strong, she had been surviving for the past thirteen years with that smell as her strength to hold on when times were difficult. That fragrance was the only thing that she had left of her mother, except the gold heart locket with her and her mother's picture in it that she always kept hidden from her step mother's evil eyes.

Pepper Brady was an evil woman, she had always been. When she first entered Summer and her mother's life, summer had only been four year old. She had always been a happy child till then. But then, one fateful Christmas night, Samuel Kingston brought in the young and widowed investor of his Publication house along with her two kids only to tear Summer's happy world apart and weeks prior to her sixth birthday, he married the same woman, adopted her kids as his own, forgetting he once promised the same things to another woman, loved another woman who was Summer's mother, forgetting that he had a daughter to love and protect too.

That was day when Summer lost her princess throne to her step sister Lilian. But that didn't matter to her. What mattered was that she lost her super dad to Lilian too. And then it's today, almost thirteen years after those dreadful and agonizing months and she still hasn't got back what she lost - not her princess position, not her mother, not her father and most importantly, not his love or even his attention. They were all Lilian's now.
