Two resumes stood out to her. Song Liqin and Li Chuhua, both relatively young but capable.
Song Liqin's alma mater was Imperial University, where Zhou Lengxin currently attended. It was known as one of the nations best colleges.
Li Chuhua was a fresh face, but she had impressive credentials and had once been a child model and actor.
Zheng Hualian was a 20-year-old from A City, which was mostly comprised of farmland. She finished high school a salutatorian and could've easily been accepted into a top university. However, her family could not afford to send her to college, so she came here to S City to hopefully improve her life.
Zhen Hualian currently juggled two jobs as a waitress and store attendant. If she made it big, she would be the epitome of a rags-to-riches success story.
Zhou Lengxin felt a pang of respect for this aspiring actress. Being young in an unfamiliar city, little money, and in an industry where it's so hard to climb up in, she must have experienced numerous hardships.
She reminded herself to be patient with this person, after all, she was only a few years younger than her.
Only, Zhou Lengxin worried that Zheng Hualian would still be wet behind the ears and be too naive. The entertainment industry is a dark an scary place, which is why did not want to immerse too much of herself in it.
"Hello, Miss Ning? Could you please ask Miss Song Liqin and Miss Li Chuhua to meet with me in my office? ...Yes, thank you."
Miss Ning at the front desk worked extremely efficiently, both women were in front of her in less than fifteen minutes.
"Hmm, both of you are currently just doing office work, right? I want to assign you to a new artist."
Li Chuhua was a new hire, so when she heard she would finally get some real experience, her eyes lit up.
The strict-looking Song Liqin has a faint smile. After all, this counted as a promotion!
"Here. I've made you both copies. This is Zheng Hualian who is new actress that is going to be in Director Ye's new film, 'His Endless Love'."
The two looked at each other in astonishment, things were too good to be true! Usually youngsters like them needed to go through the arduous process of assistant managing— basically being treated as an intern/servant.
"The catch is..."
Zhou Lengxin watched their expressions fall almost immediately.
"...she has almost no knowledge of the industry and no professional training. I wanted to assemble a young but talented team to help each other grow. Song Liqin, you have a touch more experience, so you'll assume the manager position. Li Jiaying, I want you be both of them's assistant. Please teach her the rules of the industry and company."
"Yes!" The two young ladies immediately answered enthusiastically.
"I need to confirm some things with the supervisor first, you guys are free to go."
Zhou Lengxin secretly hoped that this team would do well.
She spun a couple times in her swivel chair while in thought. She pulled out a notepad and pen and jotted down a few things she needed to do.
To be honest, Zhou Lengxin was unsure about how to proceed with this assignment. She was a singer/songwriter/producer, she even dabbled in dance and choreography, but when it came to creating a successful actress, she was completely clueless about what to do.
In the end, she left the building because she had a seminar to attend later that afternoon.
