Chapter 3 - Prep+Sprint

Dave stood like a statue in the bridge of his small corvette. He finally quietly sighed and chucked his com-link across the bridge. He wouldn't need it with what he was doing. Dave then smiled. The smile looked crooked and the scariest part was that he looked extremely calm. Too calm to mirror the burning emotions that swirled within him. He finally just sighed again to release his pent up emotions and went into an uber focus mode.

"This is just a game. I need to survive as long as possible, while dealing the most damage," Dave told himself as he got to work. Robots were warped in from David's personal inventory and space storages. He molded golems from the nearby metal and conjured several tens of more humanoid golems a few feet tall out of his Elms of power. Magic was rumored to come from a Universe tree which sprouted Galaxy trees, and so on.

The machines started to build orbital gun emplacements, while the golems dug a tunnel to create a bunker right next to the corvette. A fort was materializing out of thin air, as sensor pods were launched into the atmosphere. Dave could only sit down and concentrate on his next task and feed energy to his many automatons. As the fort's shields started to project into a half dome, a screen inside of the corvette's bridge turned red, and set off the alarms. Dave glanced at the screen, and then did a double take as his eyes became glued to the screen.

"Why is there an entire armada in this god-forsaken backwater piece of garbage system," Dave yelled out, and then right after muttered its just a game.

He quickly commanded the orbital weapons to open fire. The shells reached the closest ships, but were immediately repelled by the shields on the warships. Dave smiled as he shot another unassuming shell towards the sky. As the shell impacted the shields, a ginormous explosion rocked the battleship as three more shells impacted the exposed hull. The battleship didn't stand a chance against the three anti-matter missiles Dave had shot into it. The Templar fleet slowed to a halt outside of the orbital defense range as they discussed their next move. Dave looked back towards his fort as he ordered a deeper bunker. He was going to teach those Templars a lesson for forcing his Corp members to make that choice.
