Chapter 51 - Reminder

Queen sat on the sofa and read the book Quince was reading before.

'Time management' was the title on the book.

'Does that mean he has no time for stuff?' Queen mused and began reading the book.

She continued flipping the pages and absorbed the contents in it.

Rule 1: Prioritize your tasks: Do what's most urgent and important to you.

'Mm doing that at the moment.' Queen thought and read the other rule.

Rule 2: Never spend your time worrying about other tasks. Just do the one you already chose.

'Not worrying here.' Queen replied in her mind. She turned to the next page and immediately stopped.

She couldn't tear her eyes away from the thing she saw, "Isn't this...."

Quince's side:

Quince just finished his shower and put on his casual clothes worn at home. He wore a black premium cotton shirt and white long pants that cost a few hundred thousand.

He dried his hair and thought of the woman sitting below. Now that he felt better, his suspicious nature was finally back once more.

That woman created a plan and deliberately left misleading clues on his cruise. True that she helped clear it up but it wouldn't happen if she didn't start it.

Thinking about her personality, she wouldn't have gotten voluntarily involved in assisting him. She was there to prank him after all.

He finally managed to obtain some information about her and saw that she didn't have much guy friends and that she tend to steer away from men in general. In addition she told him that she didn't know about him so it wasn't the reason she avoided those men. She just doesn't like them in general.

'Then why?' Quince couldn't help wondering why she chose to assist him that night. Knowing her, she would probably have tried to stir up other problems instead of aiding him but she didn't.

It showed that she changed her mind abruptly so a lot of inconsistencies were in the 'murder' she planned.

So why would she suddenly do that?

Quince wondered and his eyes darkened as he remembered her daze look when she look at him sometime. It was like she was looking at someone else through him. The exact same expression as 'that person.'

"What secret do you possibly have? And what else are you planning to do?" Quince murmured softly. After the racket she created, he knew he couldn't trust her.

He tried convincing himself but it wasn't working. He didn't understand why but his conscience and heart seemed to trust her inexplicably.

Quince was in a bad mood as he walked down the stairs. He saw a caramel head sitting on the sofa, her head buried in something.

Curious to know what she was looking at, he walked softly even though he didn't need to as the carpet on the floor would cancel the noise out.

He bend his head down and saw the thing she held in her hand. He immediately snatched it away from her.

"What...!!!" Queen yelled and turned to look behind her. Her hair splayed out due to her quick movement.

"Give it back to me!!" Queen bounced up from the sofa and tried to snatch the picture from Quince's hand.

"Where did you get this?" Quince asked as his body radiated a dangerous aura.

"From your book. Now give it back!" Queen jumped up and down and tried to get the picture back. Quince just held it high above her head and moved occasionally to move it out of her grasp.

"It's not yours." Quince said icily. Quince was complaining in his heart. He should have known his mother would pull this kind of stuff.

The book was given to him by his mother. It was her way of complaining that he had no time for her. She also inserted a picture of him when he was a child, about 5 years old, in the book.

In the picture, Quince looked absolutely adorable as he was smiling brightly and his dimples were completely visible. He wore a formal suit with necktie and a black top hat on his head.

His mother was indirectly comparing his cuteness when he was younger and his attitude at the moment. She was definitely displeased.

"I found it! So it's mine now!" Queen complained as she continued jumping. But not for long as her foot wasn't 100% healed yet because she neglected the ointment.

"Owww" she suddenly yelled out and bend down to clutch her foot.

"What's wrong? Isn't your foot alright yet?" Quince asked as he immediately bend down and pulled her foot over on his lap.

Queen used that moment to snatch the picture from his hand and stuffed it in her shirt. Needless to say, Quince was incredibly shocked by her behavior.

"You...." He didn't know what to say as his mind still couldn't believe her shameless action.

"What are you doing?! My foot hurts you know!" Queen ignored him and immediately focused on her foot, acting as if nothing happened.

Quince let out a long sigh before carrying her princess style to the sofa.

"Hey!! Hey!! I can walk! You just gotta get me medicine! Hey! Let me dow...!!" Queen started complaining as Quince walked her to the sofa.

Before she could finish her rant however, Quince unceremoniously tossed her on the sofa.

"Behave." He said icily before walking away.
