Chapter 54 - Game Start!

"Here we go!" Queen's eyes glittered in excitement as she pulled the board out of the game box. She opened the game board and Quince could see various illustrations on it.

There were 6 geographical areas consisting of swamps, mountains, waterfall, jungles, snow and desert with a red circle in the middle. The illustrations were divided equally on both sides of board.

"As you can see the board is divided into two sides with different areas. These areas are the one we can use the soldiers to attack, defend or even rest."

"So we have to act as the general and we'll each have a troop of soldiers?" Quince asked as he read the rules on the manual.

"Exactly! How smart of you!" Queen reached her hands out to pinch Quince's cheeks and quickly let go before concentrating on the mini soldiers in the packet.

Quince didn't even have time to blink before Queen continued with her explanation," So we each get 500 soldiers and we can divide them however we want. There are three major ranks: normal soldiers, one normal soldier can kill one normal soldier, then there is the leader soldier, we get 10 of them, they can kill 5 normal soldiers and one leader soldier."

"And the last rank? The major soldier?" Quince asked as he picked up the soldier toy with a red hat on top.

"The major soldier can kill 20 soldiers. But each side only have 3 major soldiers though." Queen explained.

"Can normal soldier kill major soldier?" Quince asked curiously.

"They can but you need at least 150 normal soldiers to kill one major soldier." Queen replied.

Then she pulled out the cards to explain further. "We have two decks of cards. One consist of attack, neutral and defense. The other consists of various instructions and limitations of things."

She then placed the card decks on the board. "Now we have 3 minutes to plan however we want, we are allowed to use all of the soldiers on our hands to allocate our soldiers to each area of the board."

"Alright." Quince replied easily. He was doing a mental calculation of how best to plan his troops.

Queen did the same and soon the three minutes were up.

"Ok now we have 45 seconds to place our soldiers on the board." Queen said.

"Ready, Set, Go!" As soon as the To came, Queen hurriedly placed her troops on the board.

Quince leisurely placed his troops on and after 45 seconds were up, they both stopped moving.

They managed to plan all their troops on the board. Queen glanced at Quince's strategy and nodded appreciatively. But it won't be enough.

"Are you prepared to lose Master Quince?" Queen asked with twinkling eyes and a confident smile on her face.

"That is what you should ask yourself." Quince said simply and pulled one card from the deck up, officially starting the game.
