Alice is needs some rest. I think she was dehydrated when she cried. I was still in shock from Sammy. Did she love Sammy. More than a friend. Sammy, poor Sammy. I wiped my eyes that were starting to tear up. I sat in the corner of my room with a book in my hand waiting for Alice to awaken. 20 minutes later she stirred.
"Jack..." her voiced trailed off. "Is Sammy really..."
"Yes." I said with no hesitation. She put her hands up to her mouth as tears ran down her cheeks. "Alice, let's go to the kitchen." I have a fairly big house. 6 bedrooms, one office, and 4 bathrooms. I had a large backyard and 2 maids that would come twice a week and mother had a garden. I use to plant stuff with her until Daisy got sick. Pops was an entrepreneur who made big bucks selling oil. I would go to work with him often. Now I go to school and take care of Daisy. Down the hall to the kitchen. Mother was setting the table, still silently weeping. Alice had her arm around mine as we walked in.
"Jack, dinner will be ready by quarter-till 7. Go check on Katie." Mother said. I nodded and dragged Alice off with me to the backyard. She gazed over the 40 acres of land my father owned, he even hung up his title deed. Alice started to cry.
"Remember when You, Sammy, and I would play in these fields. Tag was fun." Alice says, wiping the tears away. She looked dazed from looking to the horizon.
"Alice, Sammy wouldn't want you to cry. He would want you to smile and be happy." I said, trying to comfort a dear friend. The sun was already setting and it was getting dim. I checked my watch to see the time. It was 6:44. I grabbed Alice's hand out of the blue and dragged her in to eat stew. When we walked inside the house, I saw Daisy, sitting. Crying.
