Lara's POV
I was walking through the park that a lot of artists come to when I saw him. The target of today's mission. He calls himself Ezeki but his real name Rob Kiljis. Just like his wretched name, he robs from people. Innocent girls and even boys. He pretends to be and agent searching for talents and lures hopeful, innocent, and young talents away. Selling them into the human trafficking ring that by tonight, will only serve as a warning to others who want to start trouble in this city. Since Yaya and us are settling here, we have to clean up the trash.
Before long, I find a good spot not too near but not too far from him and open up my guitar case and take out my guitar I got during our trip around the world. It's my favorite, brown with gold and silver stars decorating the bottom. As I start playing, I looked at him from the corner of my eyes. I already knew that he's been looking at me since I was within his sight, because today I look exactly like the kind he'd go for: sweet, innocent, and gullible.
As I start to sing along with my guitar, the people around me quiets down a little. This was what I wanted, to attract his attention even more, and I knew my voice would be able to lure him in. As the best singer among my sisters, I knew this mission was perfect for me.
By the time I finished singing, there was already a crowd around my area, which was as planned. Rob soon comes up to me, singing praises for my talent and saying his script to me. Since I already expected this, I acted along perfectly. Just when he was going to ask me to go talk about the contract somewhere more private, someone interrupted.
I know him. Stefan Bolivir, the heir to MZ corps, the biggest in this city before we came. Well we have no hate for each other, just not interested in working together because we don't know each other yet. I guess today's plans are going to be changed.
"Well, miss how about considering our entertainment company as well. I promise that our benefits will definitely be better than this man's unknown company."
"Hey who are you to look down on our company like that," said Rob aggressively, "Even if our company isn't famous, it's not unknown!"
I have to say he's very good at acting. He sound like a perfect employee defending his company.
"I'm from MZ's entertainment branch," Stefan rebutted Rob perfectly and turns back to me, "So how about it, want to sign with us instead?"
I can see Rob about to blow so I quickly nodded, deciding to go with plan B, not wanting to cause anymore disturbance. I left with Stefan, leaving a few t-bugs to follow Rob back and alert the police anonymously. That was plan B. Stefan Bolivir led me to a restaurant nearby and seriously started to pitch me. I feel bad because I had no intentions to join from the start. After all, I was already the princess of another entertainment company: ours.
"You really should join our company. I promise that within two, no, one year, we'll make you a world famous star. With your talent, you could go far, and with us backing you, you'll definitely not have to sacrifice anything. And before I forget, may I know your name?"
I have to say he's good. If I was really just another talent looking for a company to sign me, I would definitely choose his, but too bad I'm not.
"My name is Lara, and I really appreciate your offer, but I'm afraid I'll have to refuse," I said.
"Why?"
I sighed, knowing I'll have to tell him a little of the truth.
"Mr. Bolivir-"
"Call me Stefan."
"Okay, Stefan. You see today I wasn't at that park to get signed by a company. I know that I could go anywhere and get signed. I went there to day to catch a criminal."
"Criminal? Who? Don't tell me it that guy back there?"
I nodded and said, "His name is Rob Kiljis. He's a human trafficker. He comes the to lure away hopeful talents because they're easy to deceive. I was going to get him to take me back to their base and destroy it from the inside. The police from the outside. Get it now?"
"But, you looked so young. How could you be a policewoman?"
"That's because I am young. I'm not a policewoman. I'm what you call the bait. But I'm doing this without the polices' knowledge though. I would be long gone by the time they got there."
"How is that possible? Don't tell me you're an expert in martial arts and can disappear like a ninja?"
"You don't need to know that. Anyways, good bye Stefan."
"Wait."
He holds my wrist, stopping me. I could flip him over easily but decide to settle this peacefully.
"What is it," I ask him, smiling mischievously, "Could it be that you fell in love with me?"
"What if I said yes?"
He looks intensely at me, making me feel a bit flustered for a moment. I quickly calm myself and pulled wrist away from his hand.
"I was just joking, Stefan. No need to be that serious."
"I'm not," he said with a deep voice.
"Well if fate let's us meet again then I'll give you a chance. Not today though. Bye."
As I walk away I could feel his gaze on me, but I decide to not turn around. If he's really the one for me, we'll surely meet again.
