The midsummer morning in city T was just as usual as always. The weather was somewhat pleasant that day. Although the weather was sunny it wasn't too hot, probably because of last night's rain that cooled down the temperature to some extent. After a night of showers the sky, which recovered its brightness, again became clear and crisp, devoid of a single wisp of cloud that could cover the sun. The gentle air still carried the humidity with hints of fresh earthy smell stemming from still damp grounds. Puddles were formed on the roads and sidewalks reflecting the morning sky and the shining sun. It seemed that the city regained it's vigour from the pour after going through a week of dull and scorching summer days.
People had already started their typical daily life as usual, the hustle and bustle of the streets had also begun. The sound of honking cars and hurried footsteps of pedestrians could be heard.
The picture was quite similar for the airport as well. Constant sea of people going in and out of the airport. Sounds of jet engines, clatter of luggage wheels getting dragged on the floor, murmurs of people could be heard. Inside the terminal in the lounge area so many different types of people could be seen waiting for their flights, some were sitting in the nearby cafes sipping their morning cup of caffeine. Some were waiting in front of the conveyor belt to collect their luggages, clearly indicating they had just landed, whereas on the other hand some were already standing in the line to board the flight which will depart after sometime.
There was a girl sitting alone in the sitting area.The girl seemed to be somewhat anxious as she was looking at her watch from time to time. She was wearing a pale blue dress which had reached to her knee and a pair of white sneakers. Her hair was in a simple bun. She only had a handbag on her side.
Even after sitting for an hour there was no sign of her flight landing. She was getting super bored. At first she decided to take out her laptop to do some of her pending tasks but at the end decided against it. Just then it was announced that it will take another hour or half for the flight to reach the airport. Having no other choice left she set an alarm on her phone for one hour and lied back and rested her head on the seat. Due to having a morning fight she had to wake up quite early and couldn't finish her sleep, and then after reaching the airport she was informed that the flight was delayed. She did not know the flight would be this late, so now she decided to catch up on her unfinished sleep. When she woke up from her nap and came from the washroom it was announced again that her impending flight had just landed. She took out her ticket and went to stand in the line.
Finally after almost four hours of journey she reached her destination- B city. After landing she went to collect her luggage from the belt which was a suitcase not so big and came out of the terminal. Dragging her suitcase she fetched out phone, called someone. She then booked a cab from her phone while walking towards the exit. Once outside she waited for sometime again until her ride came, then she climbed into the car. Address was already given at the time of booking which was the Imperial University. She then grabbed her handbag and once again fished out her mobile and opened the QQ and sent the message of her arrival in the group.
After reaching the university area she then got out of the cab and carried out her luggage and then headed for the girls dorm, reaching there she opened the door of the room. As she was about to enter someone came rushing towards her crashed with her.That person immediately hugged the girl and said-
" Xiao Yue, I missed you so much!"
This action caught the girl by surprise and before she even had the chance to say anything that person again asked loudly-
" Xiao Yue why did come late hah?"
"Xiao Zhen, are you gonna let her stand at the door?First let her enter then talk you fool"-said another person who was inside the room.
Xiao Zhen seemed to realise this and released the girl before hastily pulling her up along with her bags and baggage. Then after settling her luggage at the corner she then again asked while pulling the girl again to sit on the bed, she asked again - "Tell me why are you late?"
"My flight was late"- the girl replied and stood up to take off her handbag and took out her laptop, placing it on the usual place, the desk.
"You could have just come yesterday," Xiao Zhen pouted.
"Told you the reason already"- the girl named Mingyue replied and leaned back against the headboard of the bed obviously tired from jetlag.
"I know I know, I was just teasing you. Not seeing you for the past few days has made my heart so painful. - Xiao Zhen pointed towards her heart and acted as if she was in so much pain.
"Stop acting so overdramatic all the time Zhen Zhen." - said Ning Mei, the girl who reminded Xiao Zhen just a few minutes ago, disdainfully, rolling her eyes.
"Hmph! What do you even know about love between friends? huh!?- Xiao Zhen snorted playfully and pouted.
"You two are always at each other's throats. Stop bickering all the time." - Mingyue was laughing watching them.
"That's just how we are."- Mei Mei said.
"Yes Yes that's right."- Xiao Zhen nodded in agreement.
"Okay I know"- Mingyue. These two are always bickering with each other. Mingue got used to it now. Right now she wanted to take a nice shower and rest. She was very tired from the journey.
