Hearing her son's request Beatrice was slightly shocked by it. While she did expect did hear him ask eventually especially seeing his strength grow over theses past years but she didn't think it would be this soon. Putting her hand on her chin she closed her eyes to think for a bit. After a couple of seconds she asked her son, "Why do you want to do that Sagar?"
She just asked this question to see his response as she could guess a few reasons why he would even ask a thing in the first place. Sagar didn't subvert his mother's expectations much as he readily responded, "I feel that I need actual battle experience to help fine tune the power that I've amassed. It'll also help further improve in areas that I'm currently lacking in or have trouble getting a handle of."
Beatrice nodded her head but said back to him, "The forest can be quite dangerous especially so for someone of your current level. I can see that you're at least of the Intermediate level but that's hardly enough as their some monsters your father would be troubled to deal with let alone you. I'll maybe consider your question if you reach the level of an Expert but even then when you go to a school you'll get enough fighting experience then you just have to wait till you're old enough."
Seeing that his mother was finished talking Sagar stood up from his seat and walked over to her. Arriving next to her he looked in her eyes and saw that it would be hard to change her mind on this matter. So instead of continuing the argument he leaned down close to her whispering something into her ear. Backing away from her he saw that her face was slightly distorted in anger.
"I never thought you would dare tell such a lie to me Sagar. It seems I underestimated the lengths you'll go through just so you could go out on a little adventure.", her face then started taking on a hue of red from containing her growing rage.
If Sagar was actually telling a lie this would be the first one he would of told her. His mother never really asked him questions that would require him to not tell the truth so he has never do so. Mind you that didn't mean he wouldn't lie to her at all as there were some things she was better off not knowing or being told about.
Before his mother can continue with steaming off Sagar simply raised his hand where a small flame appeared. Sagar knew that if he wanted to prove the truthfulness of his words he would have to use action rather than words in this case.
Seeing the flame appear in her child's hand Beatrice was immediately sent into a stupor. She just couldn't believe what she was witnessing in front of her eyes but before she was able to start to think straight the flame changed. This time it changed into a sphere of water and stayed like so for a few seconds before it changed into a swirling winds. It was then that the show appearing on Sagar's hand stopped.
While Sagar was able to cast the low level spells of each element he could only freely manipulate fire, water, and wind. He was almost done with earth after which he'll continue to the others till he's done with all of them. He planned to finish them whenever he was in the forest as he had more freedom with what he could release.
He eventually heard his mother ask him, "Since when were you able to do this?"
Sagar answered punctually, "A month after I circulated my internal energy I formed my mana core."
Looking at his mother's face he saw that her eyes started to water up and she began to cry. This scared Sagar a bit, he was expecting her to be excited or something other than weeping. He began to rub her back comforting her while also trying to figure out the problem, "Mom, why are you crying so hard there's no reason to."
While wiping her tears away her voice cracked, "Why would you attempt something so dangerous, you're smarter than that what would you have done, what would I have done?"
Hearing his mother cry out Sagar finally realized what the problem was. Since it had been a while he had forgotten his initial fear when he was forming his mana core. With all his strides in power it had gotten pushed to the back of his mind, the system confirming that he wouldn't die from such an endeavor helped with him forgetting all about it.
Sagar hurriedly salvaged the situation with him taking about twenty minutes to calm his mother down. She was currently blowing her nose on some tissues that he had brought to her. Red eyed, Beatrice gazed at her son and let out a large sigh.
"Okay my son I'll let you go to the forest but please return back home by the end of the day at least. You also have to keep anyone from finding out about how peculiar you are as there would be those who would mean to either use you or harm you for it. I'll tell your father whenever he comes to visit to avoid any unforeseen circumstances. With my previous concerns can you promise me that you'll fulfill them?"
Sagar nodded his head and responded, "Of course I will mom."
"Alright I'm going to go to bed first all that crying has worn me out.", Beatrice then wheeled herself to her room. By now she was able to walk somewhat but because she had not used her legs for such a long time she was trying to back to practice in her free time. Whenever she wasn't practicing though she was just in her wheelchair as usual.
Seeing her enter the room Sagar sat back down into one of the chairs at the table. He then focused on what he was going to do in the coming morning before he left. He planned to have things set up so that his mother won't have a hard time while he was gone at least till around evening. He didn't want to stay in the forest past evening as he didn't want to worry his mother.
'Well at least we got that over with', he thought
During the past year his stats had grown again but not to the level of previous periods. Right now his strength was at 25, his agility was at 20, with his vitality at 22, and finally his magic at 19. He felt even more confidant in his ability to survive and was wanting to put it to the test for a while now.
Everything was going to come to fruition tomorrow.
