Chapter 4 - Completing Foundation

Over the next few days besides caring for his mother all Sagar did was focus on circulating his internal energy all over his body. He's been close to completing the cycle several times since yesterday but the energy still refuses to finish the last home stretch. It wasn't until two days later that he would finally complete the full cycle of his internal energy.

As soon as he did he felt a rush of power fill his entire being with his internal energy flowing all over inside him. It seemed as if the energy was blood, he could feel every bit of it and how it moved through his veins with the congregation that he formed acting as if it were a heart in that without his control it sent the energy all over his body.

The energy itself looked colorless with streaks of gold flowing through them. Sagar figured that this was the life energy property that his internal energy developed. From what he knows internal energy is colorless for the most part unless it develops attunement towards a certain element but it's not something Sagar needs to think about for the moment.

Opening his eyes Sagar stood up and began stretching as he prepared to see how strong he was right now. He wasn't exactly sure how to test it though so he was just going to pick up something relatively heavy like that barrel sized rock nearby. Usually somebody of his age wouldn't even think about attempting to lift it but he felt like it was possible now.

Sagar wanted to first see how much his basic strength has been boosted, basically how strong he was without actively controlling and moving his internal energy. Coming up to the rock Sagar found some ridges that he could hold so that he wouldn't just hug the rock and be in a awkward stance. He then started to lift the rock and managed to move it up a few inches before he felt that he would probably hurt himself if he tried raising it anymore.

Dropping the rock Sagar started to take heavy breaths as he did exhaust himself a bit attempting his feat. He rested for about fifteen minutes and prepared to test his boost in power when he actual used his internal energy. Sagar took a breath, focused for a moment and started feeling his internal energy empower him. He then felt a lot more ease when he lifted the rock this time around and while he was able to lift it higher than he did earlier he wasn't able raise it over his head.

Putting the rock down again Sagar didn't feel tired at all and he was impressed with his gain of strength, at least considering he was only five years old. He even felt that if he focused his energy on certain body parts he could make them even stronger but he really didn't need to test that right now.

'System can you show me my stats for me?', Sagar thought as he wanted to see how they changed with his gain in power.

Looking at them he saw that his strength increased to three, his agility and vitality increased to two while his magic remained at one. This was pretty much along the lines that Sagar thought they would increase to and he only had a question which he quickly raised to the system.

'Do my stats convey my full power or just what it is at that moment in time?', to which the system responded in it's usual manner.

[The User's stats convey what the present maximum he is able to achieve.]

Nodding his head Sagar decided he was done for the day and went back inside. As he was walking in he saw his mother looking at him in a strange way. He was sort of confused but could narrow down a few reasons as to why she would be.

"Sagar come here for moment let me have a look at you.", Beatrice beckoned her son over because she wanted to confirm something. She usually spends all day reading as there was not much else she could do in her condition and while her son was practicing outside she didn't pay it any mind. She trusted him and felt that he wouldn't do anything he shouldn't at least not without telling her.

What changed today was that a bit earlier she felt fluctuations that could only be felt from a warrior but she thought it was impossible. A week ago when her son started his training she at least expected for it to take a couple of months maybe even a year before he actually completed the circulation of his energy. This was taking into consideration his natural intelligence as that would help him out by a good margin but she didn't think he would have the talent as well. She didn't have any talent in internal energy and neither did any in her family at least according to what she knows. Garris' family had talent in internal energy but they were considered average among their peers with Garris himself being one of the more talented children in his family's generation.

As she was currently crippled she wasn't sure if she was just imagining it or if it was actually true that her son managed to successfully train internal energy. When Sagar was standing near her she put her hands on his face and closed her eyes so that she could feel out his energy more accurately. In a couple of seconds she managed to sense his energy flowing throughout his body it even had a unique property to it which shocked her even more. At least it could help explain how fast he was able to accomplish his feat but even then that would be stretching it by quite a bit.

Taking her hands away from his face and opening her eyes she looked at her child. She then hooked her arms around his body and started hugging him while shaking him excitedly.

"Oh my baby is so talented I can't believe it!", she then started to shriek a bit in her elation.

Sagar was helpless in this situation so he just let it play out until his mother had her fill. When she stopped it seemed to only be because she was actually getting tired as she was taking in some deep breaths.

Sagar being concerned asked her hurriedly, "Mom! Are you okay? You shouldn't wear yourself out like that."

Between her intakes of air Beatrice assured her son, "No, don't worry, I just got too excited."

She then took a break for a while to get her bearings and drank some water that Sagar went to go get for her. Beatrice then told him, "Sweetie I just didn't expect you to give me such a big shock. Now, at least as long you continue your practice, I don't think it'll be hard for you to enter the more prestigious schools. You may even get your tuition waived because of your talent which would be even better.."

Beatrice continued rambling on while Sagar stood there listening to everything she had to say. He didn't think he was that talented even if his mother told him otherwise. While she used to be part of 'Silverback' and she saw a variety of things during her travels he doubted she experienced all that she could. Adding to that his talent may even bring malice from others and while he didn't know the full extent of his parents backgrounds he didn't think it would be greatly extensive but he could be wrong for all he knows.

The next day Sagar decided to take a bit of a break and just read instead of focusing on his training. If anything the next step would be the most important part to the beginning of his path to power and he was slightly nervous. The system told him that nothing would happen to him if he made a mana core but he wasn't sure if everything it said was absolute so he was also mentally prepping himself in case something went wrong.

Another week passed before Sagar decided it was time for him to get started on forming his core. All it took was sensing the innate mana in the surroundings, gathering it to the center of his body and condensing it into a bead. It was a bit similar to internal energy except he didn't have to circulate it and he had to use a lot more energy to form an actual core. His internal energy was more of a gaseous substance while his mana would be completely solid in nature and he would only draw upon it when he needed it to cast spells.

He was going to have his congregation of internal energy surround his mana core as they were located in the same place and the core itself doesn't take up as much space. What he didn't know was that since he practiced internal energy it made it more difficult to sense the mana in the air. It took him almost two weeks to finally sense mana but it took even more time to actually move the mana once he sensed it. Taking a full month in total Sagar finally managed to get the mana to start moving into his body.

By this time his father had sent a letter to Beatrice with him telling of what he had been doing since he returned to 'Silverback'. The commander of the branch returned Garris his position of captain, he would of given him a higher position as over theses past eight years Garris had gotten stronger but the commander didn't want others to complain and cause problems. Garris didn't mind it and thought he was already being shown enough preferential treatment by being given his previous position.

Along with the letter was some coin that he earned during the month and wished his family the best along with assurance that he wouldn't get hurt in future missions. Beatrice wrote back and told him different things that happened during the month which wasn't much but she included the important news that their beloved child was a genius.

Sagar continued his training and there was only a small gap in forming his core when suddenly as soon as the core was finished Sagar started feeling as if his body was quaking.
