The next day, I started to prepare the breakfast I've been doing for years. It was now harsh browns and toasted bread coupled with coffee. Although it wasn't extravagant unlike the 6 Star Hotel that he used to spend the night with every time he was on his usual business trips, I think the love and care I did will be able to move him.
I guess?
As soon as I finished arranging the plates and the foods into the table, heavy steps were heard as his tall stature block the living room. As usual, he was dressed in his Armani suit coupled with the latest edition of Rolex and his ever slick black hair combed into a nice way.
"You're here" I said as I step out of the table to greet him.
"Morning" His usual low voice always made me tremble in my knees as always.
"Want some? I--I made it just as you like it" I nervously smiled as I showed him the coffee that I brewed early in the morning.
"No thanks, I'll just get some in the company" He dismissed as I stand there awkwardly holding the cup of coffee.
"It's okay, just don't eat too much of those or you'll get indigestion again. Remember the doctor said to e-"
"I know" He coldly said.
Then he grab his suitcase and went out of the door. He didn't even spare me a glance nor a peek.
I went into the dining room and eat the food I prepared especially for him all alone. The food that was deem enough to look as much presentable as I can do was now all cold. It look tasty before but now, all I could taste was the salt.
The salted tears that fell into my eyes for the millionth time.
......
"Eiri" Alisha once again shouted my name.
I tilt my head into confusion. Still not processing the words that flew in her cupid bow lips. We were at a cafe, sipping out usual refreshments as we indulge into some slight talks.
"You'll come right?" She stressed out the word come as she once again repeated the question.
Biting my head in contemplation, I tried to ignore her eager face and instead focus onto the fact that I haven't even said a word about today's event to my husband.
Nolan Cohen.
A typical CEO with an outstanding brain and a God like features coupled with his perfect stature with all the muscles placed into the right spot. He was like the "Men among Men". Males were envious of him while females can't get enough of him.
Well, who wouldn't? He's handsome and rich, young and successful. Even I would have never thought that he would someday marry a simple girl with a normal face that you can ignore in the street and won't probably remember again.
At that thought, my hopes went high.
Surely, he would have like me if he married me right?
"See?! You weren't even listening to me! What are you thinking, huh? Care to share?" Alisha said as she inched closer to me.
At the though of his face, my face became piping hot. She must have noticed something as she nudge at my feet.
"Nothing! It's nothing!" I repeatedly said.
"Nothing? Then why are you blushing?" She sarcastically ask me with raised eyebrows.
"Is it your husband? Surely it's not right yo- No way! It's really him?!" Alisha's voice raised as she eventually stand up in shock from her seat.
"Alisha! Sit down now!" I half-whispered, half-shout at him.
She sat into the chair as I covered myself. I was too embarrassed to see their gazes on e and thankfully, Alisha didn't do anything more.
"I just hope your husband would appreciate you more, after knowing the love you have for him"
She just shake her head and continued to drink her drink while I sat over to mule about what she just said.
