On Mio's first day, she and Jacob arrived at the prestigious K-university, in separate cars.
This annoyed Mio as she was planning to at least sit next to him, or get to know him.
However, she didn't let her thoughts about capturing him dampen her excitement. When they arrived Mio couldn't help but squeal in excitement.
She pulled herself together before she got out of the car and elegantly exited the car.
Her appearance caught some of the Male passerby's attention.
" Ah, another Goddess has entered the campus!" One shouted. Mio blushed back at her old college the men never said anything about her accept being shock at her female status.
She casually looked in Jacob's direction and saw home speaking to a pretty girl.
He said something at her and she laughed.
' Did the stone-faced twig make a woman laugh?'
Mio was slightly shocked seeing how comfortable he was with this girl. He even let her touch his arm!
Mio narrowed her eyes.
She wanted to go over and make an introduction but was stopped when a handsome man approached her.
" You must be Mio right?" he asked.
" Yes and you are?" Mio responded politely.
"I am Kei Neves the vice-president of the student council. I heard you were coming today. So I've been given the task of welcoming you."
Mio smiled " Thank you. I'm so glad I was a bit nervous about coming here." she chuckled.
In the corner of her eyes, she saw more people, girls and boys surrounding Jacob. Her eyes nearly popped out at him laughing, it seemed like he was quite popular.
Noticing her slightly surprised Kei looked in the direction Mio was gazing in.
"Ah, I see Mr Deeks has caught your attention."
Mio tore her gaze away from Jacob and chuckled.
" N-no I was just wondering why that guy is so popular".
Indeed Mio was wondering so she hoped she could fish for more information through Kei.
Kei nodded and started walking.
" Well he is quite popular, Mr Deeks or Jacob should I say. Comes from a very powerful family. He also has the highest academic score in business science in the whole school. He's very well-known, but I should warn you to stay way."
Mio nodded she would take Kei's advice if she could but of course, she couldn't.
Kei showed her around the campus and even guided Mio to her first class.
" Maybe we can have lunch sometime?" he said. Kei had grown quite fond of Mio. She was quite funny and quirky and he thought he saw a wild streak under that lady-like appearance of her.
" I would like that."
Mio bid Kei farewell and walked into her first class which was business. She was beginning junior year again but didn't mind.
As soon as Mio walked in she caught the attention of the students who were unfamiliar with her. Some thought she was new, others assumed she had skipped classes before and only appeared now.
Whatever they thought Mio paid no attention to it. She seated herself in the middle of the class and proceeded to take out a notebook and pen.
The class started and live student poured in.
Mio listened to the lecture interested and learned things she didn't know from her previous studies. She jotted them down along with some readings the lecturer suggested. When the class ended Mio moved on to her next one.
In her next class, she sat next to a short-haired girl.
" Hi I'm Dana " the girl stuck out her hand and Mio shook it.
" I'm Mio".
After that Mio found out that Dana took the same course as hers and was a foreigner from England. She was half-Chinese and half-English and came to Japan to study at the International K-university.
The two girls spent the rest of the day getting to know each other. Mio was so happy that she could die. When she returned to the manor she had a huge smile on her face. She had enjoyed her lectures and even made a new, female friend.
Her smile was instantly crushed when she saw Jacob coming down the stairs.
He made eye contact with her and then said.
" You must've had a good day? I trust Kei took good care of you?"
Mio shifted her weight uncomfortably " Ah yes he did. Thank you".
He walked down into the dining hall and Mio followed him. They sat down and began their usual monotonous dinner.
Mio no longer bothered to make conversation with him since it was like talking to a wall.
Suddenly, Jamerson walked in and whispered something in his ear.
Jacob's eyes narrowed and he spoke up.
"Looks like I'll have to skip dinner"
" Oh thank God" Mio accidentally blurted out. Jacob looked in her direction and she in his.
An awkwardness settled in and she coughed.
" Please don't let me keep you".
Mio's smile faltered as she kicked herself for saying that out loud.
Once he left she breathed out and her head fell onto the table.
"How much longer do I have to do this?" she mumbled.
Mio finished dinner by herself and went into her room to begin working on the assignments and things Dana said she should know.
After some time at her desk, she looked behind her at her bed forlornly and said.
" Wait for me!" she stood up and walked out of the room aiming for the kitchen.
It was now 2am in the morning and Mio was about to walk down the stairs when she saw Jacob come through the door.
He pushed up his glasses and had a serious expression on his face. His usual pristine clothes were dyed in what looked like blood. A maid walked in with a towel on a silver tray.
Mio saw Jacob remove his shirt and was just about to get a good view until she saw him look up.
She hid from his gaze and scurried to her room. He was covered in a lot of blood. Though she was no stranger to the ways of the mafia, Mio shivered.
The look on his face had been chilly without his usual smile. She wondered if this was the true him or was the true him, the one she saw socialising at school?
