Chapter 17 - Practice makes perfect (3)

Sebastian continued leaning on the counter waiting for the owner of the smithy to make himself present while he was inspecting a red metal sword with a hilt decorated with silver and bronze colors.

"hmmm I was never so close to a sword, nor in the museums did the swords allow them to be touched, this sword seems to have been made many, many years ago, it has rust everywhere." Sebastian said to himself remembering a trip to a museum that he had made where there was also a display of swords, but these could not be touched by anyone and the sword in front of him had multiple spots of rust that were more likely to be real. Dried blood from many years ago.

At that time a group of four people entered the smithy completely interrupting the silence and peace that was inside, their weapons and equipment were a total disaster as they seemed to be corroded.

"Where is the old blacksmith?" a young girl with bow and arrow asked the others present with her noticing that there was only one person with beginner player equipment in the store.

"I have no idea. There seems to be nobody here but that guy who is at the counter." The young man exclaimed approaching Sebastian and touching his shoulder calling attention.

"Excuse me old man, but do you have any idea where the blacksmith is?" The young man spoke in a disrespectful way to start what did not bother Sebastian very much, but obviously he disliked the way that guy spoke.

"What lack of respect and I have no idea where the blacksmith is." Sebastian said turning around showing his height to the young man who seemed to measure 1.70 against the average 1.93 a clear difference in height which made him feel intimidated.

"Please do not cause problems Rim, sorry for the lack of manners of our partner, is that we had a bad day and a dragon in the sunken citadel destroyed our equipment completely, by the way, my name is Satchel, I am a priestess, he is Rim warrior and that one over there is Juars who is a guardian and the one who is checking the bows is Siralt, a ranger. " The young woman said her name and that of her classmates, as well as explaining why her partner's bad manners.

"No problem, but try to make your partner do not disrespect other people, its bad education, by the way, is not very dangerous to fight against a dragon?" Sebastian was curious about what he decided to ask since he had seen for a few minutes the fight against the great white dragon, a creature almost as big as a mountain.

Satchel shook his head, denying the fact.

"Their attacks are slow, but are compensated with shock waves that hurt in proportion to how close you are to them, the dragon that we face is called" Gaping Dragon "a family of ancient dragons that vomits a strange substance that corrodes the equipment of everyone who comes in contact with him, and we could not get away in time, and we suffered the consequences of the vomiting and that leave us without equipment. " Satchel explained why his pieces of metal equipment and weapons were in a state of disarray and the creature that had caused it.

"After what did all of you do?" Sebastian asked curiously.

"We used an escape stone, and we got here...we had no other way to face the dragon, since as priestess my spells are very strongly affected by my equipment and my cane became corrupted losing its effectiveness." Satchel said raising his cane which seemed to be very old due to the corrosive vomiting of the dragon.

"A Dragon said !?" the sudden voice came out behind the counter scare Sebastian to the other four players who walked a few steps away from the counter.

Suddenly a dwarf appeared behind the counter with both hands raised and a smile on his face.

"Where is the dragon!? Where you all found it!?" The dwarf exclaimed.

"In the sunken city, in the north, within the bowels of the city." Satchel said where the dragon was.

The dwarf suddenly began to jump and celebrate leaving confused those who were present inside the store.

"It's a perfect opportunity, I need teeth, nails, scales and dragon leather and I could use the help of some adventurers like you four, although I have to repair their equipment for what I see." The dwarf said referring to the four players who had entered, After Sebastian completely ignoring him.

The dwarf came out from behind the counter and started talking to the other four players completely ignoring Sebastian, but this did not bother him in the least.

"We will talk privately, but as part of the mission I will repair your equipment right now." The blacksmith approached to an anvil and took a bag containing a strange golden powder inside it.

Each player removed his equipment from his body and gave it to the dwarf while he began to do the golden dust on the equipment making it back in optimal condition.

"Perfect, your equipment is ready to be used again." the dwarf said while these four players took their equipment again putting it on.

Sebastian watched as these four players entered the room that seemed to be the dwarf's office leaving him alone again.

"Wow, I feel totally ignored here." Sebastian told himself observing how he had been ignored by the blacksmith and the players.

They spent a few more minutes in which Sebastian continued to wait leaning on the counter until a young woman in a tunic and a hat that kept her hair completely together appeared in front of him.

"Tell me what is it that requires sir?" the woman asked Sebastian putting both hands on the counter staring him in the eye.

"I wanted them to sell me materials, so I could manufacture my own equipment if possible." Sebastian said with a smile on his face trying to look kind and respectful although this did not seem to matter in the least to the young woman who was on the other side of the counter.

The woman made a gesture of denial with her head.

"We are short on materials to make such items even in the auction house can not be found because most of the adventurers present in the world are stupid and do not remember to dismantle the creatures they kill so the current situation is very complicated because there is no entry of parts of important monsters such as nails, teeth and leather, in addition to the miners are not able to enter the mines due to the presence of monsters that always threaten all." the woman said explaining that the situation was very bad for the market and for the blacksmiths and miners.

"The only option is for the adventurers to use their brains and be able to help the communities what they can do, but because of the rewards they give for each mission, nobody wants to bother giving a hand." The woman said.

"If you do not have anything else to ask, I'll have to kindly ask you to leave." The woman said beginning to sound discouraged of her work.

Sebastian decided not to push the issue and knew that in the city would not be able to find materials so the only option was to look for them on the outskirts, but then he remembered that these four players were going to face the dragon again.

Sebastian decided to do something he was not and would not be proud of and decided to wait for these four players to leave the forge and then follow them, and he would face the dragon only to get the materials and make his own equipment.

A long time passed and the four players left the forge with totally new equipment and different from the one they had previously and were heading towards the exit door of the city without suspecting that someone was following them in the distance.

Sebastian at that moment stopped and entered a store and bought a set of 400 arrows that cost 3 gold coins and 50 silver coins being fully prepared to face the dragon.
