[AN: This chapter is a lot longer than what's I've done so far. A lot of banter in my opinion, but I don't know, it felt right to be in here. For me, it makes the world more alive, with other people besides just Aaron and Ritz. I think the next chapter will be about the hunters, just for a change of pace. Thoughts?]
Aaron walked to the fountain, looking it over as he tried to figure out the best place to put the cental control of the illusion.
'I guess the best place would be the absolute center, but I would have to deal will the water gushing in my face. Hmm... Ah thats right, I can block the water for a little bit.' he thought.
Aaron closed his eyes, and started feeling the energy inside his body. He had done this countless times in the training area and could do use it with just a thought. But this was reality, he didn't want to mess up.
He roused his energy and willed it into the fountain, he followed it as it in. He had it bunch up in the water pipe blocking the water. He opened his eyes and saw that the water had stopped flowing. 'Great, time to work.'
He jumped to the cental piece of the fountain and started to carve lines and runes. It looked like one of those pentagrams or magic circles you saw in video games or anime. He had drawn several similar ones around the city, the only real difference was the final shape of the lines.
After spending an hour of work he finally got down and willed his energy to come back. The water shot out like a geyser, going high into the sky, before it started to gush like before.
'Well, that's finished. Just need to activate it and its done.' he thought to himself.
Just as he was about to chant the activation, he heard loud footsteps. Almost sounded like marching of a small army. As he turned to see what was making that sound, low and behold, a small army was marching towards him.
He counted about 20 men, and among them he could see the two thugs he had left awake. 'Guess since they couldn't beat me with four, they'd call all their friends. Man this is going to be a pain.'
"What? Couldn't beat me with four, so you thought more would help?" He taunted the two thugs.
The lead thug, who was even bigger than the rest, he was almost as big ad Andre the giant. Abruptly stopped, and turned to the two that had told them amount the man standing before them. "Is this true? Did both of you take our two brothers that are still lying in a bed, to fight him, and lost?" the man said in a cold tone as his eyes went to slits as he stared at the two thugs.
They both shivered at the tone and sight of him. "Y.. Yes that is true Elder Brother. But he looks so weak, we didn't know he'd be so strong." the one that had been in the lead of the four spoke, stuttering some of his words due to shame and fear. "Have I taught you nothing? Has the sect taught you nothing!? You know we are barely able to be called a sect as we focus on physical cultivation. If master wasn't at his level we would just be dojo. And you have the nerve to think that your puny power is enough to let you uphold justice? When we get back I will make sure you are punished, if not kicked out of the sect." The giant of a man yelled at the two men, shaking with anger as he spit was flying.
"As for the rest of you, learn from their mistakes, you must first gage your oppoents, not by how they look, but the amount of energy within their bodies." As he said this, he turned back to Aaron, closed his eyes and opened them again. Aaron watched, interested in what he was doing, and he quickly noticed his eyes changed from their brown color to a more greenish blue hue. Aaron just cocked his head to the side as he studied the change.
Sigh. A loud, defeated sigh sounded out from the giant of a man. "He's too strong. He's even stronger than master. It's a wonder how the four of you came back alive." he looked back at the two as he said this. Turning back to Aaron he opened his mouth to speak, before closing it again as if he is trying to find the right wording. "Sir, I appologize that my four brothers attacked you. But they say that you have been abusing a small girl, may I enquire from Sir as to whether this is true?" He finally said after a few seconds of thought.
"Oh you mean my daughter? No I haven't been abusing her." Aaron replied with a interested look on his face.
"Oh, so the little girl is your daughter?" The man then turned to the two, "Did you know this? Did you look into anything? Or did you just take the word of passerbyes as facts again?" He just stared at them until they replied.
"Uhh... yes Elder Brother. But everyone was talking about how malnurished, and bruised she was. I even saw it with my own eyes. She looked like she was on death's door! He even sent her outside the city earlier this morning!" one of the two pleaded with the giant of a man.
"Oh, are you talking about the lass that is camped outside the city gates, saying she's waiting for her father to finish his buisness before they head off to the captial? She looked like she is no where near death's door to me." the man said as his eyes narrowed at the two.
"Oh? You met my daughter? Is she doing fine on her own? She's pretty much been sheltered her entire life, I figured living out in the wilderness would do her some good." Aaron chimed in.
"Yes Sir, she is doing find, and seems like she can take care of herself. It would be weird if she couldn't, considering she is as strong as I am." the giant man replied without taking his eyes off the two. "Anyway, it seems like this is pointless and only based on rumors from people with no knowledge of the world. I appologize for disturbing you Sir, we shall take our leave. And as for you two, well, you better pray that you only get kicked out of the sect. If it was a fair fight, you might just be punished, but you went and lost your minds, challenged and sullied someone way beyond your means, even beyond master's means. Now the lot of you, head back to the sect." he said before turning and bowing to Aaron before leaving with the rest.
Aaron just stood there, with a smug grin on his face. 'Well that was interesting, I don't think he could see my actual level, just the amount of energy like he said. I wonder if I can do that? It wasn't something among the skills I got, so maybe it's something like a technique. Anyway lets get this started.' he mused before he started to chant and the central control lit up, and the light faded as he finished the chant.
