A pair of eyes were staring into the abyss. Slowly coming back to consciousness, clinging on every breath that could be taken, feeling every bone in her body shiver with cold and pain,, her skull pounded with agony she had never felt before… she dug her nails into her flesh in order to bare the pain, she wanted to escape this torture she wanted it to all to just end.
"Is this the end for me! Is this how I am going to die?" she wondered.
As her thoughts wandered in her mind a cold chilling laughter erupted in the silence. The chilliness of the sound sent shivers down her spine, freezing every fiber of her entire being with fright.
lp
"Foolish little girl! Seeking death? Death will not come home tonight. Keep living silly girl. You have yet to fulfill your purpose in this life."
She wanted to yell, but she couldn't, she wanted to scream loud to be heard by someone near her but only silence escaped her lips. In her state of panic when she repeated the last words of the cold voice in her mind, she couldn't be more surprised and wondered, what her purpose to live in this world was! What was her reason to live.
Right now all she could see before her was darkness All she could feel against her skin was cold. Realizing her pitiful state, she laughed silently at herself, a frustrated and angry laugh…
"Death won't welcome me? Then a wonder I shall be!" She whispered trying to reply to that cold and chilling voice, the source of which was unknown to her yet….
The sinister laughter echoed again... making her head pound loudly in her chest cavity, sending chills down her spine... She again shivered uncontrollably, feeling her soul slipping away from her body... she was frightened to her core, she heard the voice whispering to her…
"Then a wonder you shall be."
Suddenly her cold body felt some warmth wrapping tightly around her. she felt some liquid sliding down her throat. It felt like her throat was burning. She wanted to protest... slightly twisting her body, she tried to unsuccessfully escape from this unfamiliar hold on her body. Her body was overheated.
She again tried to resist when more liquid was forced into her mouth. She felt like it burnt her throat. Annoyed and frustrated she tried to force open her eyes, but her eyes refused to obey her. She felt her body temperature rising higher.
She squirmed around within her trap that held her tightly. All she wanted was this torment to end. With high temperature, forceful feeding of liquid and an unfamiliar tight trap, she felt her body was drifting. But then suddenly cool breeze blew on her head, comforting her and soothing the uneasiness in her mind.
Some time later, she realized her body heat was slowly decreasing. She tried again to open her eyes. She was in a daze.
All she could see was a sea of red. She blinked her eyes a few times. Then she turned her head to see the face of an unknown man right in front of her. She was slightly shocked and blinked her eyes again. She couldn't help but wonder where she was.
She tried to remember something but she felt a sharp pain pounding against her skull. She groaned in pain. Noticing her groan, the young man sat up and put a cold towel over her forehead. She tried to speak staring into his dark brown eyes she grabbed his arm And asked him, "Who are you?" She muttered.
He lightly laughed. "She speaks!" He grinned and said to himself.
"My name is Raine" He said staring back at her then added, "You should be more worried about your health than who I am."
Sighing to himself Raine thought for a moment and then asked her, "Do you remember anything about yourself? How you ended up in this condition? Can you tell me who you are?"
She stared at him and blinked her eyes a few times while looking at him... Trying hard to remember about everything, she let go of his wrist. She felt excruciating pain in her head.
"Hey. Hey. Don't over-do it now. You just woke up. Your body hasn't healed yet…"
She could barely hear his voice. The pain made her feel nauseated. Still she blurted out a few words before losing her consciousness…
"My name is .. Winter."
