Chapter 9 - Concern

His back pressed against the chair, eyes fixed on the young woman lying in the bed, he slightly scratched his head, pondering over some thoughts, he sighed inwardly and whispered to himself, " When will you wake up from your deep sleep beautiful?"

He slowly got up from his seat and headed towards the door, he turns around and swept a glance at her, again he turned to head towards the door and bumped into Joey. He felt a slight sting on his chest, "Oh, Dick? What brings you here this early in the morning?"

He arched his eyebrows and stared at the man in front of him, cocked his head to the side his lips twitched with rage and hands clenched into a fist, holding his anger with a slight grin on his face.

Joey said, "The Queen ...Would like to see you." He then turned and marched off in anger mumbling something to himself.

Raine chuckled as he headed towards the throne room . He felt his heartbeats drumming in his ears, blood running like a raged river in his veins when the sweet smell of blood charged on his nostrils. Raine shook his head agitatedly trying to brush off the urge for tasting blood

"Silly Boy! How long will you keep ignoring your urges? How long will you ignore your true nature?" Raine shook his head again ignoring the voices in his mind, he rested his hands against the door And lost his balance as he entered into the throne room.

Queen Lilith watched Raine stumble into the throne room. She arched her eyebrows and spoke softly, "If I didn't know you well, I would think you were a drunk by the way you stumbled in here."

Raine looked back at Queen Lilith and grinned, "No, I am not drunk. Unless one can get drunk off the smell of blood."

A burst of icy cold laughter escaped her pink lips. Raine felt a slight shiver run down his spine. As he approached her slightly lowering his head.

"Not sure who I should be more concerned about! Should it be you or the young woman lying on your bed." Resting her head into her palms, as she spoken while staring at him deeply.

"My queen I am fine, I just haven't had my morning fix yet," Raine said holding back a yawn.

Lilith slumped slightly in the throne. Observing his every motion she pondered to herself and then asked him, "Is there any sign of her waking up?"

Raine sighed lightly. "As the weeks go by, I haven't seen any sign of her waking up from her sleep yet. Queen Lilith, do you know who this woman is?"

A few tresses of her black hair slid across her cheeks " Yesh, I know who she is and what she is, but this is not the right time for me to share her details." Her pink lips curved into a smirk across her pale white skin.

Taken aback in shock, he stared at his queen. Puzzled with the thought that why she wouldn't give him full details about her when suddenly he remembered. she had told him to be careful because there was a spy hiding among them. Sparks of light began to form in his head, he began to wonder who would have the guts to betray the queen.

Lilith smiled to herself admiring him for a moment She said, "No need to worry about who the spy is. You just focus on taking care of the young woman. I have faith she will wake up for sure. Until then I can't answer any of your questions."

Raine nodded his head. Holding back all the questions in his mind, he looked at his Queen and said, "I'll be taking my leave, My Queen" with that said he turned on his heels and headed back out of the throne room doors.

"Farewell Raine" she shouted as the throne door closed behind him.

Walking down the corridor Raine noticed one of the maids as he passes by. He stopped for a second and said, "Young Miss" The young maid stopped in her tracks. Staring back at him she answered, "Yes my lord! Anything I can help you with?" Raine nodded his head and said, "Can you please send some food over to my room? Thank You."

The young maid stared at him in awe while nodding her head. Raine turned around on his heels and headed back to his room to keep taking care of the young woman. His mind began to race with questions.

"Winter! who are you? What is your identity?" he whispered to himself.
