Chapter 2 - Different Starting Lines

The Pacific Tribesmen is undergoing rapid development.

Their way of living changed completely, unlike before when they were just throwing stones to hunt wild animals for food. They now have weapons, although their weapons were only made of wood and stones it was very efficient.

They also learned to capture animals by using traps. They build farms and fish ponds.

They learned how to train pets and were trying to learn about mounts.

From the Talking Book which became the greatest treasure of Pacific Tribesmen, they learned this survival methods. They also changed their small huts made of animal hides and tree branches into fine wooden structures and some of them made houses fortified by big rocks and Mud.

They also learned Martial Arts and weaponry.

The Head of the Tribe, Apo Isko is the oldest and wisest of them all and he's the one who shared the advanced hunting and farming methods.

Despite lacking strength and toughness, he comprehended the words of the talking Book.

He's the one who translated and taught the elders of the Tribesmen depending on their specialties.

The Herbalist Apo Kepweng learned from Apo Isko on how to produce elixirs, medicine and other apothecary related knowledge. Although he manage to learn most of the recipes, the ingredients is somewhat a problem. Due to lack of resources, he can't start the production of potions.

Apo Tasyo learned the basics of blacksmithing, but he also have the same problem with Apo Kepweng. Due to lack of tools like hammer and forger, he can't try making weapons and shields.

Apo Lakas is still choosing students whom he can teach the basic martial arts from the talking Book translated by Apo Isko, but he's still practicing the advance part of the martial arts. He's also having problem as his body build is not fitted to some moves and techniques.

Despite the problems that is hindering their growth, Apo Isko said: "There's always a solution for every problem, you just have to try and try. Because the moment you decided to give up, it's the same as admitting that there's no solution to that problem."

All the Tribesmen considers Apo Isko's words as guidance and can't be refuted.

The moment Apo Isko speaks, the Tribesmen will become quiet. With all due respect and reverence, they were carefully listening and treasuring his words of wisdom.

The first thing and the most important thing that he keeps on teaching all the tribesmen was "They were all equal, they're all brothers and sisters not by blood but by soul."

He always preached:

"Earthly treasures were nothing but a material thing and it can never replace the real treasure which is their love for each others. Those who were blinded by greed will never become wealthy and will perish instead.

Physical strength is not the most powerful weapon, it is the determination to become powerful that gives you physical strength. Without that, you'll never be powerful.

Never want to be always helped by others, but always try to help others instead. Enjoy doing good things and refrain from doing bad things."

Apo Isko never gets tired saying the same thing everyday to all the tribesmen.

That's why it was all etched to the mind of all tribesmen. Even the 5 year old boy can say the same exact words if he was asked to recite Apo Isko's basic teachings.

Although they don't have any deities or saints, their unwavering trust and beliefs is what makes their tribe united.

From scratch, this primitive Pacific Tribesmen is now on the developing stage and will no longer be comparable to other neighboring tribes.

This will be the starting line for the Pacific Tribesmen to a new era.
