Ro Aian stepped out of the bathroom and dried up her hair . Earlier she had put out a set of clothes to wear to her meeting with Long Xhen. She had completed her tasks pretty early that day and had spent some time checking up Long Xhen's business background. It was impressive. Maybe a little too impressive. In such a short time he had become the richest man in the country. He was so smart and had so many awards to his name. Quite suitable she thought.
Just as she reached for her shirt on the bed, her phone rang. She checked the time; she still had about half an hour before her meeting with Long Xhen. She picked up.
"Yanlin, what's this about?" she asked in a calm voice.
"still as cold as ever, en?" The voice at the other end of the call asked. It was a calm almost melodious voice she had come to know. She still remembered the day they met clearly.
"Look at that slut, such a snub"
"I heard she used her beautiful face to charm her way through to the top"
"you don't say, I thought she was just quite and aloof, to think..."
The people around her continued to spit out hurtful words as she walked into the study hall and sat at her usual quiet corner; it was next to a large window which had a lovely view of the University's garden below.
A group of girls walked towards her, sneering looks written all over their face. They were obviously being led by someone. She had her pretty face contorted with the deepest sneer.
"Why bother pretend that you study, when we all know the truth of your deeds" she said with a laugh, as she waled over.
Aian's brows had scrunched up a bit at that voice. Not because she cared about the baseless rumours, but because she had once considered her as a friend. She had finally opened up her heart to someone, thinking she was just like her. But she had been terribly wrong; She never thought that she was a wolf who covered her fangs in wool.
Ming Anwei, the source of all these rumours.
Such a waste of her trust she thought. She took a deep breathe, relaxed her brows and opened up her laptop to study. Completely ignoring Anwei who had just walked up to her.
Anwei was infuriated by this act.
She reached out her hand towards Aian's computer; her intentions clear, but was stopped midway by a hand which had such delicate and slender fingers.
"How dare you?!"
"What has this got anything to do with you Yanlin" Anwei said as she struggled to free her hand from his grasp.
He let go of her hands took out a napkin and began to wipe the hand he had used to hold on to her.
"Disgusting" he said, a repulsed look on his face.
"You can't become the priceless jade so you choose to destroy it"
He tossed the napkin on the ground next to Ming Anwei.
"You must check your ability first"
He turned away from Anwei who was frozen in place a look of shock and anger written on her face. He looked at Ro Aian with a look that clearly said, praise me.
"Unnecessary" was all he got in reply from her. she had continued to study after muttering this word, As if the incident that just happened had nothing to do with her at all.
