Chapter 16 - The Contract

Avril and Gabriel sat in the Wenches Tavern with Bain sitting in the back of the room, looking gloomy.

"Gabriel we are going to need some paper and a pen to make this agreement." Avril said as she sipped the coffee lightly.

"Ok, I'll have one of my goblins go to fetch some." Gabriel said while signaling to a short fat looking goblin. He whispered in its ear, and soon after the little fat goblin nodded and took off. Not even five minutes later it came running in on its stumpy little legs, huffing and puffing as it came. Stopping only inches before it ran straight into Gabriel. In its hand were 3 pristine white sheets of paper. It gently slid the paper onto the table, afterward it pulled a pen and ink bottle out of thin air, like it was nothing and laid it carefully out next to the white crisp papers, as well as a feathered pen. Avril was looking at the goblin with an odd look in her eyes. As neither she nor Beltane, before she had died had been around goblins before, Avril didn't know that each goblin had its own space to transport its most prized possessions with it wherever it went. Bain sidled up next to Avril and whispered in her ear

" That came from a goblin space. Every goblin has its own space to store things away. The more powerful the goblin the larger their space is, and the less taxing it is for them to have more things within it."

Avril nodded her head, turning toward Bain's direction. Unfortunately she didn't realize how close Bain was and bumped his lips with her nose. Avril's eyes looked as big as saucer plates. Realizing what happened Bain stepped back quickly. Avril's cheeks stained pink for a moment before she quickly turned and acted as though nothing had happened. The question she had been about to ask Bain before hand had slipped out of her brain like a phantom. Turning to face Gabriel Avril lightly dipped the pen into the ink placed before her. she slowly set it down on the pristine White pages and began the delicate task of writing the contract for her and Gabriel's partnership.

The stated following groups being group A Gabriel and his goblin horde and group B Beltane Kitsune have the following agreement to open a weapons shop together. Group B is responsible for finding and securing a location for said weapon shop, as well as procuring a weaponsmith and employees for the said shop. Group B is also in charge of renting the weapons shop and paying the employees until such a time the stores revenue can support itself and it's employees. Group A is responsible for finding and procuring the rescources to make the weapons in the weapons shop. Group A is also responsible to say they were hired to kill Beltane Rakalu Kitsune by Ashir Ruin Kitsune. In return for thier work they will be given 60% profits from the stores earnings minus half of what is owed in wages and rent, as well as a permanent housing in the back of the shop area. Group B will be given 40% of the stores profits minus half of what is owed in wages and rent. Group A has put down in collateral if they should fail to hold up thier end of the bargain a favor owed to Group B. Failing to hold up thier bargain includes giving faulty metal ores, undermining the business behind group B, or using the money earned from the shop to damage group B in any way. If group B should fail to hold up thier end of the bargain they have a collateral of 3 years of indentured servitude to the leader of Group A Gabriel Gallow of the Goblin horde. The shop will be run until group B is no longer able to fund it. if by then the shop is not bringing in revenue group B will give group A the collateral. Any further arrangements dealing with the shop not in said contract are up for discussion and are neither group A or group B's responsibility until further discussed by both parties.

Avril finished with signing her name on the blank space just below the contract, also making a second copy of the contract and signing that one as well. She said both contracts before Gabriel's Misty green eyes. As Gabriel read through the contract he took the pen and dipped it in ink.

"Before you sign you should know this Gabriel." Avril's golden eyes stared straight into Gabriel's. "If you should undermine our project due to your greed for my collateral our contract will dissolve and our shop will be disbanded." Gabriel nodded his head taking the ink pen he signed his name on both contracts. Avril grabbed one of the papers.

"Thank you for your business Gabriel. I appreciate you listening and forming a partnership with me." with that Avril stood and gracefully moved to the stairs with Bain stalking behind like a menacing shadow. As Avril exited The Wenches Tavern she let out the breath she had been holding in all day. She looked over at Bain and smiled at Bain as if she was the most carefree person in the world.
