"I am sorry but I don't feel comfortable around you anymore. I think we should stop seeing each other."
She blinked once then twice just to make sure that she heard him right. Slowly she gathered the courage to lift her chin up and meet the pair of eyes that always looked comforting. She was hoping to find remorse or sadness in those eyes. If she found it then she could shake off the ridiculous thing that just came out from his sweet lips. But those eyes remained soft and full of solace, she knew they had no intention to hurt her.
Anger started to boil within her. That voice remained gentle, yet you could tell that he already made up his mind. This was never a discussion from the very beginning, he was splashing a fact to her face.
She had to stop him but her mind was blank. Apart from the background jazz music, she could not hear anything else. Should she start removing her top and reach his lower head to send him into the world of ecstacy? All men would fall on their knees in the face of orgasm, right? They were now sitting in an exclusive jazz bar. There were not a lot of people and the lighting was dimmed, it was a public place.
She didn't care about the small details after what she just heard. They could watch her if they wanted to. But now she could only clench her fists. If she ever did that to Kira, he would definitely run from her.
He didn't want her. He never wanted any other women in his life and it killed her. Still, she tried to force a smile. Her lips trembled.
"Kira, aren't we friends? Friends help each other out. I just wanted to help you." She diverted her gaze to the empty crystal glass in front of her, then started pouring it with red wine. Her chin was up high, she still looked proud and classy.
"I don't need your help anymore. I think we have crossed some boundaries. We need some time apart if we want to go back to where we used to. And if you're around, people will use both of us to hurt Shizu." A neutral smile appeared on his handsome face.
She knew it. It had always been her. She desperately stared at him, her eyes were all red. It was unfair. She kept telling herself.
A swarm of memories flashed before her eyes. She did so much for him. She made sure to keep his schedule checked at all time. Secretly keeping his phone on check just to make sure Shizu Katagiri remained blacklisted. She started a rumor that Kira had an STD (sexually transmitted disease) to get rid of the girls who were after him. Who didn't know about Kira Atsui's hotness on the bed?
One day a model came to Kira and slapped him in front of public for the rumor that Erika Itoh spreaded. Kira could only smile politely and quietly dragged her away from the crowd. Fortunately, the sickening gossip didn't make it public as Jivex Entertainment spent a large amount of money to handle the PR. However the STD rumor was circulated among other stars so a lot of them refused to collaborate with Kumo Bell. They looked at him with disgusted eyes.
During that hard moment Kira drank alcohol every single day and Erika Itoh was there to accompany him. Seeing how miserable Kira was, she was blaming Shizu Katagiri for everything that happened to Kira. If Kira did not have a heartbreak he didn't have to be an alcoholic who liked to sleep around. But she was also cheering inside- thanks to the rumor, she got to spend more time with Kira.
Seeing how the rumor affected Kumo Bell's activity, he decided to hold a press conference and disclose all of his medical record. Only after doing it, the other stars realized that it was just an unbased rumour. They all apologized to Kira and wanted to work with him.
The public was wondering why did Kira Atsui disclose his personal medical record, but the PR handled by Jivex Entertainment made it as if he was promoting a healthy lifestyle. It was definitely the most embarassing moment in his life but he had to do it for Kumo Bell even though none of his members asked him to do it.
She did everything she could to keep him, but after so much she was now facing with the reality. He was leaving. She could not accept it. She must not lose him. She shook her head in frustration, her eyes reddened.
"No Kira, please. Don't leave me."
"Are you in love with me?"
"Of course not!"
"That's good."
She bite her lower lip, then scoffed. She grabbed the glass and downed the wine. What an irony. Love? Money, fame, face, sex- He had it all. He was a useful prince that could boost her ego.
And if Kira was in love with her, she would be a princess for the rest of her life. She knew how low Kira could put himself in front of a girl he loved. After everything that she did for him, why couldn't he do that for her?
He always treated her well, but that treatment wasn't special. He would treat every creatures on earth with kindness. That's why Erika Itoh was never satisfied. The more he showed her warmth, the more paranoid she got. The closer they were, the more she wanted him to fall. She thought: only when he was down low- he would never leave her.
"The next time we cross path, I hope we'll both have found our own happiness. I'm sorry I cannot take you home.. I already asked the concierge to arrange a chauffeur for you." He bowed his head lightly and smiled. He then strode away without looking back.
