Chapter 60 - Karaoke (2)

Shizu was standing before the cashier to settle the bill. The Cheerful Youth group was done with dinner, but the party was still on- they were still inside of the VIP room and proceeded with karaoke. Shizu looked at the bill and got an instant headache. It was almost as high as what she earned from her 2 months RoomBnB rent. Those big fat lobsters definitely costed a fortune!

The black card suddenly seemed so dashing she was tempted to use it. She took the black card out and saw the silver alphabet's name written on it.

Lee Changhyuk

Her head was full of debate. This amount of money must be nothing for him, right? But that's not how she was raised. It was never right to spend other's money! She looked at the card for a few second then took a deep breath. She put the black card back in her bag and paid with her personal card.

Lee Changhyuk was running from the VIP room and approached the milk girl. He was so disappointed when he found out that his card was not being used.

"Why didn't you use my card?" Lee Changhyuk pouted.

"Let's just say this is my punishment for not suggesting you a name."

"But I didn't want to punish you." He sulked.

"It's fine." She patted his shoulder to comfort him.

Hey, wait a minute. Why was she the one ended up feeling bad? She almost got several heart attacks from the stunts that Lee Changhyuk pulled! She also just paid banks using her hard earned money because that impulsive brat bluffed in front of the whole Cheerful Youth crew. Why did he act like he was the victim here!!?

Aaargghh Lee Changhyuk, if she ended up being in a mental hospital it would be on him! But she could not say anything to that sad face. At times, he would remind her of an impulsive naughty puppy but now that puppy eyes looked down..

'Please don't look so disappointed..' She wanted to tell him that. Shizu was about to open her arms to hug him. She wanted to comfort him and tell him that he should never feel sad. But hugging would be too much, right? So she balled her fists up and smiled brightly.

"It's really fine. Cheer up!"

Lee Changhyuk raised his lids to meet her eyes, a smile appeared on his face. Gently, his fingers came to brush some hair out of her lovely face. He had always been surrounded by beautiful stars. But this girl in front of him was not like any other. Maybe it was her kind heart, or maybe it was her contagious smile. Whatever it was, her presence always calmed his mind. And those eyes... He could look at it all day.

"Miruku - chan, you are definitely the best.. Can I keep you?"

"Keep me!?"

"Yes, we should be friends forever. I am keeping you."

Shizu was hesitating. She didn't know how to react. Should she laugh it off? From the very first time she saw him, she knew that he was a childish brat who never thought much about his actions! He would do whatever he wanted to do, and say whatever came to his mind.

"You should be careful with your words. Or I might misunderstand."

"Why would you misunderstand?"

"Aren't we friends already?"

"Yes, but I guess I really have to let you know that I want to be by your side, forever." He looked her straight in the eye. Those words came out of his mouth so naturally- Shizu couldn't help but chuckle.

Didn't she just tell him to be careful with his words? It seemed like he knew what he was talking about but at the same time he also didn't. Eventhough he spoke fluent Japanese, she had to admit that he often used unique words to express himself.

Was he drunk? He didn't even drink alcohol. Maybe it was the language barrier or maybe he was carried away by the festive atmosphere. But those eyes were sincere. They had always been sincere no matter how mischievous and sharp they would appear at times. This evil magnae before her, has he always been this honest and adorable?

This brat, not realizing the weight that 'forever' carried... What should she do about him?

"Alright... Forever sounds good to me."

------------

The VIP room darkened. Kuran Yamada was playing with the touchscreen lighting controller and turned off the crystal chandelier. But to everyone's surprise- The ceiling swallowed the giant chandelier and replaced it with a disco ball!

"Whoaaa!!" They all applauded as Mr. Shigeoka finished with a song. With the presence of 8 giant screen on the wall, everyone was singing along with Mr Shigeoka. Even though he was not the best singer and already drunk, he managed to lit up the karaoke session.

"Yuuuuuki~ you should also sing us a song!" Moreno Yamada shouted, he rose from his seat. There was a tie wrapped on his head. He just had a drinking competition with Kuran and 3 other Cheerful Youth crew. The 3 crew gave up after drinking so much and the Yamada Twins were still sober, having only their face reddened.

Smiling from ear to ear, gorgeous Moreno approched Lee Changhyuk and handed him a mic.

Shizu's eyes were shot opened. She shook her head to his request. "Yuki-kun is sick! Right, Yuki-kun?"

"Nah, I'm fine!" Lee Changhyuk was grinning like a kid, he nodded his head excitedly. He took the mic from Moreno. His eyes were sparkling bright.

"Let him sing, Shizu-chan~" Moreno winked and went back to Kumo Bell.

Shizu grabbed his arm and gave him a puzzled look. If there was one feature that made Lee Changhyuk stand out among GreenEast it would be his powerful voice that always gave goosebumps to whoever heard it!

*GreenEast Member Roles:

Son Kangyu : Main Vocalist (low - medium - high range)

Kim Yoonjae : Lead Vocalist (low - medium - high range)

Lee Changhyuk : Vocalist (medium - high range)

Han Ryeowook : Main Dancer

Baek Woochan : Main Rapper*

All GreenEast members were exceptionally strong in vocals. The Dance Machine Han Ryeowook and the Rap God Baek Woochan had no troubles singing ballad and acapella.

There was always a debate for who was the better singer in GreenEast. It was always between the Genius Kim Yoonjae and the Vocal Emperor Son Kangyu.

Son Kangyu was definitely one of the most famous vocalists in Korea and in the idol industry, he possessed one of the most likable tones in the entertainment industry. He won numbers of awards and labelled as one in a century vocalist. His tone was one that's generally very youthful and light in timbre.

And Kim Yoonjae, apart from being worshipped as the Visual God of GreenEast- he had this angelic, and soft androgynous voice. His biggest asset was his control and understanding of dynamics in music, made him able to rival his award-winning team member, Son Kangyu.

However, when it came to power, no one could top Lee Changhyuk!

Lee Changhyuk's voice was one of the most noticeable and unique ones in the music industry. His voice was light but somehow manly. He was able to stand out for his uniqueness in tone and power. One of the FEW male vocalists in the entertainment industry who was able to stay in such a high range constantly without great signs of fatigue.

If a rookie idol wanted to have a quick label as a professional singer, they just had to hit Lee Changhyuk's screaming part in any song.
