Chapter 7 - Taken into Lucifer

Seb had gone in to get her groceries after the weird encounter .

But she had to come out eventually because she completely forgot the reason for which she came out in the first place. Her wallet. She remembered when the counter lady gave her a startling look.

Seb forgot that how crappy her mood was until the incident. She should have been more annoyed because it took away double of her time. But she seemed amusingly relaxed. She herself found no particular reason.

Finally when she had finished her shopping, she hung the bag to her bike handle and resumed her way home.

This time, she cycled very lazily and in a calm manner. She didn't care how busy she was until a while ago. Though she wasn't trying to be careful due to lesson she learned, still she pedaled without a care in the world.

The reason was little obvious. She still had that guy running around inside her mind. The guy whom she named Lucifer, straight out from a web-toon. She had never seen that guy around the neighborhood, who was he? And what was he doing there? All this thought was eating up her mind along with the strong wish to meet him again. He seemed very interesting.

It was already 8:35 pm. More 15 minutes will take to reach home at least. Cooking and cleaning up will take up a hell lot of time. And then there's all the editing and sketches, Seb calculated.

But then again, nothing goes according to what Seb ever thinks. One way or the other, she has to enter in to trouble or trouble will search her out. Her fate always bends on the odd side. This time, may be her wishes were too strong that it reached up to the Gods directly.

Her journey was interrupted when she took a turn at RoqueBerry Avenue. It was only for seconds but Seb was 120% sure of what she has seen. And that couldn't have escaped her attention anyhow.

It was him!! Her Lucifer, the live character!!!

In a fraction of second, he came into her sight, accompanied by another man.

In the case of any sane person, the thought would be," Why do I care?"

But it's Seb. In her case, she would think the most craziest thing and will act on even more psychotic thing. So it happened the same way this time too.

"What is he doing out there?...In that dark lane?", was Seb's first thought. Her conscience said that she should ignore, but her habits were to strangely interfere in other's business, if the person had her interests.

This time too, she was dying with curiosity to look into the matter.

She cycled a bit further, and parked her bike at a safer distance. Then she walked towards the Avenue.

Lucifer and the strange man were half a meter inside of that darkened lane. Seb stood beside the wall, careful to cover her presence from them but wise enough to place an ear and peek at times.

Their actions seemed rather suspicious to her. Then their words started reaching her clearly because it was dead silent around.

"Mr. Keats, just because the quantity is less, doesn't mean the cost will be too," Lucifer was saying in his usual deep voice.

"We have been in business for 2 years now, I demand a discount!", the addressed Mr. Keats retorted.

- There are no discounts in this business Mr. Keats. You should know that.

-Listen Kid!!! You are just a novice in this line. Don't try to outrun me!!!

-In this line, talent speaks, not experience.

-I can terminate this assignment right now!!!

-By all means, please do. But then, let's see who takes up this assignment rather than us.

-Please, I need them by tomorrow.

Seb chuckled to herself as she listened on. He is Lucifer indeed!! He knows how to take out his work, the man straight went down from threatening to requesting. And Lucifer is in his usual stingy manner.

-Increase our compensation.

-I can agree up to 80%.

-90%

-88% deal!!!

-Done!

-The packets will reach by tomorrow noon.

-You're really skilled when it comes to illegal stuffs.

-That's one of my best trait.

The man gave a heavy laugh. Lucifer just smiled once. The conversation extended a bit longer, but on useless topic. Seb wan't listening anymore. Her mind was lost from earlier.

Shipping??Packets??Illegal stuffs??

These terms relate to only one thing. Dealer?...Drug dealer!!!

Lucifer...is he some some kind of dealer?...that too at such a young age?...That's why his attitude struck Seb.

The man and Lucifer were shaking hands. That was a cue that they are going to part ways soon. And sure they did too.

The man got into a car parked at the Avenue and drove away. Lucifer stood and waited until he was completely out of sight. Then he started walking inside the lane, into the darkness, rather than coming out.

"This is crazy!!, I must be really crazy doing this!!", Seb was screaming in her mind as she had already braced herself and started following Lucifer,"What on earth I'm doing and why!!!".

Her brained said so but her conscience said something else, if the oddly gorgeous looking Lucifer is indeed some criminal, he must be stopped immediately.

Seb was in one of her bookish detective mode where the main character's life changes awfully after he does something which doesn't count as his business. But this was real life!!! Not some supernatural fiction. She needs to be very careful with every step.

Lucifer walked on confidently through the dark lane. But it was too dark for Seb to barely spot anything. She was careful with her steps, making them soft so that it doesn't form any sort of noise. The weird silence around was a disadvantage to her.

Thankfully, Lucifer was walking with no such caution. His steps were loud and clear. Seb could make out of his presence and which way he was headed.

The lane went on forever as it grew darker and darker. Seb cursed and wondered that how Lucifer is able to travel without even any source of light. He must be habituated.

It was getting really worse when a small streak of light broke into the lane. It was hopefully the other opening.

Lucifer, as expected, headed straight towards the light. Seb followed too.

Suddenly, Lucifer paused on his steps and turned behind!!!

Has it not been a moment within which Seb acted on time and ducked behind a pole, she would have been caught.

The darkness was too dense for anything to figure out.

When Lucifer was sure of no one's presence, he continued to walk. Seb activated again and trailed behind.

Eventually Lucifer disappeared into the light. Seb didn't hesitate as she made her way towards the light too. It was indeed the lane's other opening.

Seb came out and found herself at a place she's never been to before. Did such a place exist before?

But the most strange thing was, Lucifer had completely vanished!!! He was no where to be seen.

Seb looked around, and found nothing. No one came into sight.

"Where'd he go???", She murmured to herself, and prepared to leave from the creepy place.

But when she turned towards the lane again, she felt someone staring at her. Someone's eyes were on her this whole time. She felt shivers down her spine.

Immediately she turned around again and found the most unexpected shock!

Lucifer was standing right in front of her!!!

His hands pocketed and a eerie smirk on his lips. He was watching her this whole time, No!!!...He knew this whole time that she was following him. He just toyed with her and led her into the trap!!!

Lucifer looked up and threw a glance which a winner gives to a loser!

Seb was bewildered. She stumbled on her steps towards Lucifer and before she could say anything else, he interrupted,".....Game...Over!", he spoke in a grinning tone.

Seb couldn't do anything, before a sharp pain ran down through her spine!!! It reached up to her brain.

All of a sudden, everything appeared blurry to her, as Seb sensed her senses draining away pretty fast. She couldn't utter anything as a breath escaped from her mouth before she fell on the concrete in a rough manner! In spite trying her best, she couldn't hold onto her consciousness for long. Her body gave up as she was totally paralyzed!!!

The last thing she could make out before her senses completely gave up was Lucifer, walking towards her with calm steps. Then the whole world turned completely dark around her.
