Chapter 15 - You're no Chris Evans

Seeing her confused look, he added more.

"Jazz is owned by my bestfriend. I go there more than I visit my parents at home."

"Really? I think I'd remember if I saw a hot guy like you," she said in a serious manner. She was sure Flora and Claudia would have also pointed him out if they had seen him. They had pointed out so many hunks at Jazz bar that she was almost acquainted with every guy that came around.

"You think I'm hot?"

"I mean, you're no Chris Evans, but I can make do," she said as she visually dissected Quincy from head to toe.

"I'll need to work harder in the future then to satisfy my little darling," he said thoughtfully.

She was definitely pleased with this boyfriend of hers. "What should we do now?"

She made a mental list of date ideas: watch classic movies, go window shopping, go on a couple's stroll, amusement park rides, looking up recipes to try for dinner then go grocery shopping.

Quincy's voice interrupted her note-taking when she heard him say, "Can I hug you?"

"What should we do now?"

When Quincy heard her ask that, all he wanted to do at that moment was cuddle her. He wanted to feel her warmth in his arms. Pulling her into an embrace without notice might scare her, so he calmed his beating heart and asked for permission. He imagined she'd say words along the line of "let's take it slow" or "I'm not ready for physical contact yet". To his pleasant surprise, she made the first move.

Seraphina separated Quincy's arms from his body, then slipped herself gleefully into his embrace. She rested her head on his chest while wrapping her arms around his waist. When she saw he wasn't responding, she laughed and pinched his waist, "Breathe Mister Quincy".

He came back to life and wrapped his arms around her too. He breathe in her scent like his life depended on his, and she felt his powerful heartbeat beneath her face.

"Peace," they both thought while enjoying each other's warmth.
