Briar fell asleep when she laid herself in bed. She woke up to the sound of knocking at her door.
"Come in," she said as she stretched her arms. The same servant came in, holding a tray with food. The servant laid the tray at her feet.
"Eat dinner, your highness. I'll be taking my leave." The servant said. Before she could leave,Briar asked for her name.
"What's your name?" Briar asked. "I need to know what to address you."
"Leila," the servant answered.
"Thank you, Leila," Briar said with a smile. Leila smiled back. Briar's smile immediately warmed her heart. She's glad to serve her.
After finishing her meal, Briar went downstairs with the tray. She didn't know where the kitchen was, so she searched for it.
As she searched for the kitchen, she didn't noticed a figure in front of her. She bumped into it, making all the contents of the tray fall and break.
"You should be more careful, my dumb bride," the Lord said. Briar rolled her eyes then she began to pick the shards.
Aeon knelt and held her hand. Briar looked at him, straight at the eyes.
"Let the servants clean it," he said. Then he looked at her dress. "Get changed. There are clothes in your closet."
"Get my luggage at our castle," Briar said. "I want to wear my own clothes."
"It would be such a hassle. Go to your room and change," Aeon said with a rasp tone.
"I only want my clothes," Briar stubbornly said.
"Then don't change your clothes and itch," the Lord said then he left.
"I will!" Briar yelled. She's beginning to hate the Lord of the Fireborn Realm.
The next day, at the dining hall, the Lord saw Briar wearing a red sweater and a black leggings.
She couldn't keep her word, she changed clothes after taking a bath.
They were both eating quietly when the Lord told her to join him later.
"Join me later at the stables," the Lord said. "I want to show you the Realm."
"Yeah yeah," Briar said then she began to play with her food before eating it. She twirls a cut of ham in the air with a fork before putting it in her mouth.
The Lord couldn't help but laugh at her. She frowned.
"What are you laughing at?" She said with an eyebrow raised.
"You're so dumb," the Lord said. Briar wanted to stab him with his fork. He kept on calling her dumb and she hated it.
After breakfast, Aeon led her to the stables.
She was amazed when she saw dragons instead of horses. The dragons were bigger than horses. She couldn't help herself but be afraid. It's her first time seeing a dragon. She's afraid of the harm it may cause her. She hid at the Lord's back.
"Don't be afraid," he said. "You're safe with me."
