There were some options that were practically the same thing just said slightly different. For example yes and i don't mind could very well mean the same thing in certain cases just said differently. And if Nona thought about it they probably solicited a different response depending on who she was talking to.
Still even though the only option she could give was yes there were plenty of times she wanted to just straight up say no.
And this was one of them.
"Hey!!!"
Looking up she saw wild and slightly unkempt hair bouncing as he came closer. He was giving her a smirk not quite the kind and happy go lucky smile she was used to seeing from daigo.
"I hope i didn't keep you waiting long."
Shinsato said breathing heavily as if he ran the moment he saw she was there.
And he had. The agreed time was thirty minutes and she had been ten minutes late. But…
[no, i just got here]
[what took so long?]
Really why was she here?
Earlier before she left work Shinsato as if targeting her approached her and asked if she wanted to hear him play. Otome targets were scary in that he had approached her just as the office was conveniently empty and her options were basically yes.
She would much rather be how drawing, listening to music or watching something funny. But here she was looking more casual waiting on the janitor of her office building.
What was the world coming to?
[no, i just got here]
He smile rubbing the back of his neck,
"Sorry about that anyway. I got into an argument with one of the bouncers."
Well that was one thing that she didn't want any part of-
[what happened?]
[i hope everything was alright]
Dang it!!
[I hope everything was alright]
He smiled.
"Yea, those guys keep thinking just cause i'm not a big name now they can push me around. But i know the manager so they have to back up."
He laughed and Nona couldn't help but think that he looked happy and smiled back. They made eye contact and she blink at the slight of a heart going up.
'Huh?'
"Let's hurry, i don't want to be late"
He grabbed her hand and off they ran.
To be honest he was good. As he sat on stage she watched with avid attention. His fingers strummed the strings with precision and grace. His voice reverberated and captured the audience.
He was really good.
She waited as a crowd surrounded him. Her Otome ability was a curse. While in otome games there was always a good end and sometimes a bad end she had yet to see….
"Sorry about that, i tried to get out sooner"
She smiled at him, he was practically glowing
[it's fine]
[it's cause you were so good]
Well he was good. But she didn't want him to think too much on it.
[it's fine]
He smiled but there was a bit of disappointment and she felt guilty. Still they walked on in silence
"You know…. I really like music but the truth is when i was younger all i wanted was to be rich."
He looked distant as if gazing into the past.
"My parents were poor. People always looked down on us and said i'd never amount to anything. My parents lost their jobs and home and i swore i wouldn't live that way. So i got into music. I wanted to be great just like those other famous people."
He looked down scratching the back of his neck.
"Pretty selfish reason right?"
For once Nona was happy for the options because she didn't know what she could say.
[words of awe]
[words of encouragement]
Both seemed positive but she knew the meaning behind it would be different. And she really need to look within to decide what did she really want to say even if it wasn't exactly what she could say
[words of awe]
"I think you're amazing. Even though you started just thinking of money you still got so far. And just watching you i can tell that despite that you love music. You really are amazing and i'm in awe of you."
She smiled. There was no romantic feeling behind it she just wanted to express her feelings properly. She was jealous he had something he loved so much and fought for.
Still…..
Hearts bloomed and his face grew pink.
She really would never understand why these guys were so easy to seduce.
Nor would she ever know that passing by in a black car with tinted windows watching the two was….
