Chapter 1 - The Beginning Of The End:

By the year 2092 the world already turned to a devastating, almost apocalyptic scene out of a movie. This was due to the fact that people hadn't been able to foresee the future that would be from the result of their actions. Everyone had been warned of global warming in the past and how the icebergs would melt but, nobody could have predicted what came next. One part was true, global warming was but a push factor the real danger lied in trying to fix it along with the diseases that came along with it, the methodology was our downfall.

The rising sea level meant that people had been losing land along with fresh water. In low lying areas this was especially a problem. The salt water had started contaminating the fresh water. The effect was devastating, people couldn't adapt to and rebuild infrastructure in high lying areas quick enough, and this now forced the resource depraved countries that couldn't be sent enough supplies to face the consequences. The water dropped, the amount of food that was produced also dropped. They suffered as the population in less developed areas had risen, this caused death and the spread of illnesses and diseases. The food that could be produced with this water source and also dropped this caused devastation among people and they continuously got sicker.

The diseases that had already existed had constantly worsened and evolved rapidly through this period, this would be devastating by itself, but the increase of stagnant water had increased making these diseases water-borne.

This meant that they could be spread by mosquitoes. The larger countries had tried to provide support to those in need but the more urgent problem was the spread of diseases. The viruses were spreading and evolving so rapidly that scientists couldn't even keep up with the production of antidotes.

The more productive solution was to be able centre off high areas that water high above an altitude of 2000m above sea level. This would also help in a way that kept people away from the newly formed and ever growing coasts.

You now might be wondering, "How, how could the sea so rapidly move up and diseases evolve?". That can only be answered by the thinking of a single country. The Americans had seen a change in power in nuclear weapons, this was due to other countries not believing in the current president. So the U.S. had started nuclear weapon production in the Arctic, but it went wrong and fast. There was malfunction in two of the warheads being produced, it blew. Worse than Chernobyl; Hiroshima or Nagasaki, the ice shelves fell and this also brought upon the dormant diseases in the ice. Kept preserved, but now unleashed, made worse by the mutation. Now restructured by nuclear contamination, one after another people got infected and were none aware.

By the time they were found they were rapidly evolving at an astronomical rate, too quick for a solution to be rationally found in science. This meant it was too late for most of the world's population, it could have been compared to extermination as only around one third had remained. This was not due to the most of all conventional diseases but the most deadly and mutated one. It was called the Dead Shot virus or [D.S virus], and it was a water-borne disease evolved from the incidents. It was named this because, after the contraction of this virus the death was imminent and sudden in but one go.

A decade had passed after the first introduction of this virus to the human kind, and yet no cure had yet been developed. This was not a willing decision, there was no cure for it, for even if one the cells had gotten in your system you would have a complete shutdown of your immune system in mere minutes. It worked on the fundamental basis that caused the high multiplying speed of the body and quick supply of blood system transport to spread. In the case of this specific virus it had only one specific function and no other side affects others than its main purpose, this was to nullify ones immune system rendering their lymphocytes unable to function and serve their purpose.

Even though the number of cases of water-borne diseases had gotten drastically reduced to an amount of almost of almost non-existence, the D.S virus continued to spread. No cure had yet been developed, this was not cause a lack of knowledge or even a lack of resources and funding, but due to there being no way to cure it. The world was in desperation so the worst in people had come to light and showed themselves. It proposed a very high threat to human kind, because of the urgency of the disease the major leading scientists in the world had come together, a governmentally organised think tank. This was sponsored by a world-wide funding and was situated in main base in Japan, Shibuya. Besides this sub-sections of countries trying their own research to find a cure by their own means was obviously developed, but needless to say it was underground.

Many used this as an excuse to perform inhumane acts to ones that couldn't fight back, this would lead to the beginning of the end of our own humanities as we would know it. This was when human kind had shown its truest and darkest colours to the world, but the difference was this time it wasn't in the shadows. This in the history books was called the,

"THE BEGINNING OF THE END".
