Chapter 3 - Thoese That Suffered Will Always Suffer:

So, with the mutation of human children required it was necessary that the production and the training of a specialised force to counter this sector of threat to our species had to be developed.

This could only be done by those very own children that had their own genes developed, but the problem was much greater than this it was at the fundamentals of this plan, for the own children that had their families killed and their childhoods stolen from them were going to be forced to protect those who had forced this life upon them. This was a problem that had to be fixed with the utmost urgency, this had been done in many ways. Most common were that they were reintroduced into society so that they would once again bond with the people that they always envied, this was so that they could have something that they could call important to them and this could be used to their advantages by, making them want to protect people or threatening their families. This forced those who didn't want to, to protect them.

But, then there were obviously those that weren't going to comply as for them, crueller methods had to be used on them as they would often be tortured and be treated as objects controlled by those that were granted authority. From inside the compounds you could hear their screams echo across the hallways at night, their cries as they were being lashed and torn to the brink even though they were only children. But what could they do, their rights were already gone and were no longer considered human. This was made by the very people that caused them to lose their humanities and to become these so called, "monsters".

This was where the deadly lesson had been learnt it was one that had revealed the truth about humanity. It said, "Man is the only animal to make a trade, no dog shares a bone". Man is the only animal that kills for fun and not for necessity or for survival, "If there is a god I'm sure that he wouldn't want or even support death and sacrifice, I'm sure I wasn't meant to be killed. That's not the reason I was born I am not a sacrifice am I? I was born for a reason wasn't I? Why would I be born to live a life like this? Why me what have I done wrong to this point? Why? Why? Why? Why me!?". These were common thoughts around here, and all by children whose sanctities were lost and deformed in their mental turmoil and perils.

But not all of the test subjects were raised this way there was only one that was different this is his story. He was raised by the leading scientist in the world at this time and period his name was the now late, Arata Akhiko.

It was just before the time the antidote was formulated, he had taken some time off to conduct his personal research on the matter itself he was at his personal lab in the woods, working late into the night when he had heard a petrifying scream outside and as he got up abruptly. He had instinctively reacted with no second thought in his head.

He ran to his door almost tripping on the bear skin rug on the floor by the entrance, he grabbed the antique shotgun he had kept by the door and put his hand on his gun holster behind the back pocket of the coat he was wearing. It was cold outside and as he looked at the fresh powder on the the outside of his cabin, he spotted a red patches. Blood, that slowly melted the crystals of ice. He instinctively knew to follow this trail heading to where had had heard the last of the screams. As he headed deeper into the woods, he spotted tree branches. They were freshly broken, by now he had greatly closed the gap between him and the screams. As he ran it came into his sight, the one responsible for the cries of terror he had all too quickly realised the monster that had caused these petrification of emotions in the eyes of a child. He must have been around 12 years old and he was sitting with his back against the tree, but he was not the one that was crying out in terror. No that was as it had seemed, his mother screaming, "Run! Run! Run get away!" those were the words she screamed to her son as he sat there confused and petrified seeing his mother was being eaten by that monster, devoured. He knew he had created that creature with his own hands. Yes, this was his creation a product of failed research attempt that had escaped through the barricades into the area that was deemed as a, "sanctuary".

The boy unfazed by these words was almost in a mentally depraved state was now standing up with his back pressing against the tree with all his energy, whilst Akhiko grabbed the gun in his holster as fast as could throwing the shotgun away at a lightning speed hoping to distract it, but in vain. He grabbed his handgun out of its holster and unlocked the safety firing two rounds into its head. It quickly dropped the boy's mother but, instead of running to his mother aid the boy picked up the gun. Akhiko hadn't noticed as he had was already preoccupied with the monster charging towards him with its jaw dislocated and its head impaled and dripping with blood.

It charged him hooking this arm with its jagged canine this caused him to drop the gun as it kept running it pushed him into a tree further impaling his arm. He screamed as he heard the sound of his bone shattering and his blood being churned out. Then in that moment he had heard the shotgun firing and the monster was cringing out, then dropping to its knee and getting back up in that same moment out of rage. Charging the boy with all it had, it was impossible to dodge the mad beasts charge. But the boy had done the impossible which was dodging this beast, in the same swift movement he had dropped the gun to the ground. It continued to charge in the direction of the tree as its course was unchanged. He picked up Akhiko's gun and suddenly fired the entire magazine into its head. But it was not done yet, its neck only hanging on by threads, but it was still connected to its body only by the nerves and his spine.

The rest which composed of his flesh was practically non-existent. The Minotaur looking beast charged, out of anger and almost as if it was saying that it would take it wanted to take the boy with it. Akhiko was almost certain that the boy would die as he was less than a metre before it charged. Akhiko tried to get up and run in front of the boy to protect him but, he was too far and would never make it in time. He knew but he still had to try as if to try to clean up his mess of his creation.

But, by surprise as it closed in on him with the shotgun on the floor lying next to him he kicked the butt and it flew up to him, but this was going to be in vain Akhiko had thought, it would never reach him in time. But apparently his wasn't the child's plan, he pushed its horn and in the process it had impaled his hand. Akhiko was surprised not by the boy's self-sacrifice but, by the fact that he had the strength to change the course of this monsters path. He then grabbed the shotgun and shoved it in the monsters mouth, as it hit the tree with so much force that it had gotten knocked over, cracking at the trunk. He had a psychotic laugh and a sickening smile on his face as he fired it going closer to it saying the words, "Die", in its and his blood drenched faces.

He fired blowing its head off and killing it, then passed out falling softly on the snow that was melting, drenched in red around the boy. Akhiko then got up to have a look around and as he walked to see if the mother was still alive he saw an open path filled broken trees and blood. There was a compiled deposit of bodies that rose as almost as high as the trees surrounding them. It looks like his entire village was wiped out and that the boy was the only survivor.

This was a sight that he had to behold and know that he was responsible for. For all those deaths they had to atone for his sins and he now had to bear this memory as a reminder of what he had done throughout his life. It would haunt him forever.

It was proof that, "THOSE THAT SUFFERED WILL ALWAYS SUFFER."
