A year had passed and Draig had grown stronger during this period but Dracule had started to grow uneasy as the young Feratu treated him as a pest, thus he had begun forming his own plan.
It wasn't something he was particularly proud of but it seemed he might find it necessary, he had begun to think it might be wise to take over the youth's body and set about things in his own way so he could have some kind of guarantee. Draig as stated before had grown stronger and as the memories of Dracule's father, who Draig had come to know as the founder, settled he became more aware of his Vampire heritage.
An interesting thing he had been toying with was one of the abilities of the Branch families, the Alluring gaze. It allowed him to hypnotize the weak willed and see things that were hidden such as Dracule's actual features and the gaze he would cast at him when he thought he wasn't looking. Thus the Young Feratu wasn't clear on the details of Dracule's plans but he knew that they didn't bode well for him.
The Cloaked man had come to visit many times during the course of the year always showing interest for Draig's progress and if he had grown any, it was odd to the Vampire as no human should be that interested in a stranger let alone a vampire.
"Draig it has been some time since I had last seen your progress in enchanting, why don't we do another demonstration" called Dracule as he had decided to enact his plan while his heir was focused on enchanting.
Draig however had been keeping his Alluring gaze activated since the first treacherous gaze the Old Feratu had given him and thus he had prepared thoroughly. He hadn't shown the Old Vampire wisp his full potential with his Class but it seemed he would learn today of Draig's true might.
"Alright, what is it you wish me to enchant" asked Draig with a smile which Dracule had thought was odd but he was too preoccupied with finding the right moment for a possession to think on it too deeply.
"How bout this knife" stated Dracule motioning to a common Kitchen Knife that had been laying around.
Draig nodded and began enchanting, Dracule didn't even look at the symbols that had crawled beyond the knife clearly not doing the intended task. Instead he waited for what seemed like a critical point in the enchantment and it came just as he hoped but it wasn't to be. He was halted by a pumpkin of all things and before he could remove himself from it's confines he found glowing symbols wrapping around his wispy form and the pumpkin slowly fusing his spirit into the gourd until a flash was emitted.
"Did you really think that after what I had learned from the transfer that you would be able to succeed with such poor preparation. Perhaps you have been resting for so long that you have forgotten the benefits of the Alluring gaze, or maybe it's just your mind has rotted from disuse" started Draig looking at the bouncing pumpkin.
"Did you really think I would trust some ghostly Vampire claiming to be my ancestor and then you yourself revealed there is no actual relation between us, now why would I trust something like that after the life I have lived among these humans. Ha Ha, truly a senile fool to try and best me in such a way" laughed Draig derisively.
Soon he brought forth a scarecrow he had used over the years to keep his food safe from the birds but now he would put it to better use as he jammed it into the underside of the pumpkin and carved a face into it.
"You dirty little mongrel, you dare do this to the one who has trained you for so long" demanded Dracule as the pumpkin's mouth began to move.
"Amazing how you try to act the victim when it was not even an hour before that you had planned some sort of treachery against me" chuckled Draig unconcerned about the Ancestor turned Pumpkin as his little enchantment promised his safety.
Dracule couldn't deny the accusation and merely fell silent, he was now in a worst predicament than before and now there was nothing he could do to get out of it as the very thought of harming Draig caused the Pumpkin's spirit to burn.
"What are your plan's for me now" asked Dracule resigned to the fact he was at the child's mercy.
"Simple, I have learned much as the Founder's memories continue to settle as my own. I find that fate has set these events in motion for a resurgence so to speak, the gift of man has fallen into the hand's of a Vampire and as such I think it would be truly poetic to use this gift to reestablish the reign of Feratu over this world." chuckled Draig but he wasn't finished.
"You're going to assist me in this endeavor though you are nothing more than a Vassal at best but still I can find many uses for you" continued Draig as he took some seeds out of the Pumpkin's head and stored them in a little pouch.
"So I am to be your errand boy" demanded Dracule in outrage.
"I prefer the term servant and that is indeed the case" chuckled Draig as he sat down and practiced a bit of Vampiric magic.
Dracule growled but then his pumpkin started to burn incessantly showing that there was not even the potential of wishing Draig harm let alone causing him such.
'Damn you brat' thought Dracule before another round of burning affected him.
