A week had passed since Dracule had become Dracule Lantern, no longer holding his noble baring as he had been forced into carrying out menial tasks while also doing labor around the farm Draig himself no longer found necessary for himself to do. It was on this day that the Cloaked man had found it to be convenient to visit.
He stared at the pumpkin tilling the soil with an interested look as he walked up to it and inspected it.
"What the hell are you looking bastard" cursed Dracule feeling his anger reaching a boiling point from being stared at as if he was some kind of experiment.
"Damn that kid has really come a long way, I think it's time to start setting him with requests" smiled the cloaked man as he walked into the Farmhouse.
"Hello..." started the Cloaked man before he was cut off.
"So you have come again, what is it that brings you here this time" asked Draig without looking up as he had been experimenting with individual symbols instead of using full formula's for enchanting.
"I couldn't help but notice your scarecrow out there, it got me to thinking maybe it was time for you to start supplying the Guilds with enchanted gear" smiled the Cloaked man showing his fondness for the Vampire though where it came from was unknown.
"Oh? Why would I help them" asked Draig causing the man to be surprised.
"Well... that is to say because your an enchanter. It's kind of what your role is" explained the Cloaked Man
"Sorry to break the mold here but I don't think I will be assisting the people who slay my kind for sport" snorted Draig turning to look at the Cloaked man.
"What do you mean your kind, you're a Guilder just like the rest of us. You even live among us" started the Cloaked man
"I am hardly a Guilder, I have not registered with any Guild nor do I intend to. As for my kind, I am speaking of the monsters that are slayed everyday by the likes of Humans." laughed Draig thinking this Cloaked man wasn't as intelligent as the Vampire had thought.
"Then what was the point of having you selected for the lottery" asked the Cloaked man with disapproval in his voice.
"Interesting you should ask" chuckled Draig, he had confidence that this person wouldn't harm him yet. At least not until the differences were irreconcileable.
"I have a few theories on the matter, I have done some research into this enchanter business and found that it has been an awfully long time since the System has found somebody that it deemed suitable for the class. I believe it was a wild gamble to see if I would be chosen for the role and if I was, which I have been, then it would be for the cause of having an obedient little enchanter that would last long enough for you to not worry about the matter for some time." explained Draig causing the Cloaked man to laugh.
"Wow, you should get out more" laughed the man as it sounded like nothing but a conspiracy theory.
"If you must know, I personally hand picked you for the selection. As for this enchanter business it was just a pleasant coincidence, but since are the enchanter it won't due for you not to do your part" started the man.
Draig looked at him suspiciously, he knew Humans to be treacherous creatures just from the memories that he had gained from the Founder so he couldn't take these words at face value. These along with his personal experiences had colored his view of their kind to be such.
"However I can understand you being skeptical as I am aware you haven't been the most accepted in this community, so how bout we make a little bit of a deal" offered the Cloaked man.
"I don't make deals with strangers" cut in Draig as he had met this person on several occasions but never got a name.
"Oh, this is a bit awkward" chuckled the man as he dropped his hood revealing a middle aged face with a goofy grin.
"The name's Zarra kid, Dark mage and head of the Guilder's Association for this city" smiled Zarra as he introduced himself.
"Interesting" remarked Draig casually as he stared at Zarra
"Oh, what's interesting" asked Zarra
"You don't carry an ounce of the usual bigotry in your gaze, either you don't mind me being a vampire or you're very good at hiding it" elaborated Draig as he began to pay more attention to this person.
"Well there are reasons for that but I don't particularly feel like making things awkward here, so what do you say. Will you hear out my proposal" asked Zarra with a grin
"I guess I don't really have a choice do I" Stated Draig causing Zarra to drop his grin slightly.
"You really don't, but at least this way you will see some gains instead of me coming here and forcing you" explained Zarra honestly though you could hear the depression in his voice as he said the last part.
Draig realized he really didn't have a choice since the beginning but if he played hard to get he could fish for some benefits but it was a difficult task to play hard to get and simply unwilling. Luckily he didn't have to try too hard in order to get the result he wanted, he knew that if he wanted to get to his end goal then he would have to play at the level of mortal's and win at that.
"So, you said you had done research into the Enchanters of the past. Then you must have come across the action's of some of the earlier ones." started Zarra but Draig had caught on to what he was saying and had to admit it wasn't a bad idea though he wasn't sure of how well it would work out with his reputation.
"So you are suggesting to sell my services as a unaffiliated entity" asked Draig just to confirm though there would be a few issues with this as well.
"In the gist of things that is correct, but I realize that it will be difficult for you to carry on like this." started Zarra but Draig merely smirked.
"There will be no difficulties I assure you" chuckled Draig causing Zarra to smile thinking he the Feratu was easy to talk to after all.
"Alright then, well then I will see to it that the Guilds are aware that you have opened for business." laughed Zarra as he got up to leave but Draig wasn't done fishing.
"However I will need a few things" stated Draig causing Zarra to stop in his steps.
"What" asked Zarra dropping the pretense of happiness from before thinking Draig would have a ridiculous demand.
"I need skillbooks" started Draig but Zarra looked at him with a narrowed gaze as this was just too much of a request, Skillbooks were expensive and rare to say the least. The people who could attain the level to create them were far and few between and that went even further depending on the skill itself.
Seeing that Zarra had changed his expression Draig made quick with his request.
"Crafting and Smithing, only those two. It would assist greatly in my endeavor of being an enchanter and it would also help you out as well" explaiend Draig quickly and he saw that Zarra seemed to consider the matter.
"I will see what I can do but don't expect it to just come, do a few enchantment's for the Guilder's first and then maybe I will get them for you" stated Zarra leaving before the Vampire could make some other ridiculous request.
Draig smiled happily as he could see the future already as he opened his menu and looked at the skills he already had.
It was interesting to him that his stats were basically unable to be upgraded or boosted except for his mana which had seen major growth assisting him in his practice and experimentation.
'So I have, level five enchanting which allowed me to unlock Mana Molder and my experimenting has allowed me to open a new school in the form of Seals. Only three skills through the System....' thought Draig with a sigh as he had Dracule begin making him a sign.
