Bo Chin spent most of the night getting outside of the forest. Not because she had trouble finding her way, nor because the forest was very big. It was because she frequently stopped and sometimes even chased after things that caught her interest. Since her footsteps are very light by habit and she has quite the good eyesight even at night, not only a variety of plants but also animals became her distraction along the way. Sometimes she'd paint something into the tattered book she kept in her pocket, but more often than not, she'd chase after animals, stare at them for a while and set them free again soon after. But after an eventful night in the quiet forest, she finally stopped bothering the poor animals and came upon a wide path formed from countless travellers walking along this trail before her. The sun was ascending into the sky and the air had a certain freshness to it, that can only be found in or near the woods. Needless to say, she was in a very good mood as she took a deep breath as if wanting to tank her lungs for a long ride to come. Before she even took one step forward though, she noticed someone else walking along the same path quite a distance in front of her. 'That silhouette seems familiar' she thought as she started to walk away from the forest as well. She didn't find anything that caught her interest after that though since only widespread grassland filled the area. No matter how far she tried to look, there was no indication of anything else aside from these fields. She didn't mind it all too much, however, because it didn't bore her, she'd never be bored anywhere really.
The grasslands themselves naturally weren't to be called ugly, though simple, the landscape of never-ending grasslands made a truly beautiful picture. The grass itself didn't grow very high, but it had a luscious green colour, tempting passer-bys to lay down and enjoy the light breeze of the west winds. Although Bo Chin wasn't interested in taking a break, she knew to appreciate beauty when she sees it. Her strides slowed down into a leisurely pace, indicating no hurry whatsoever.
Meanwhile, quite a distance ahead of Bo Chin, a young man took lumbering footsteps. If one had to take a guess, most would describe him as stubborn since his posture as well as expression of disregard concerning his surroundings, were both something comparable to a bull. Of course, none of these guesses were to ever be voiced aloud. He himself didn't take notice of his appearance or behaviour, he was deeply lost in his thoughts with his eyebrows knitted closely together. He thought about his plan after arriving in X city. He had already thought over every single action, but he couldn't shake off the feeling that something would go wrong. In the midst of his thoughts, he sighed deeply and began revising his plan in his head all over again. 'Just to be absolutely sure' he thought. If Bo Chin behind him would have known about this incident, she'd have laughed about the irony of it all. After their first meeting, the image she had of Chen was that of an impulsive rich guy seeking his own special adventure. Who would've thought that he was cautious to the brink of paranoia?
Bo Chin never thought of herself as a shallow person, but she admittedly had the tendency to make quick judgements.
After only a few hours of walking, Bo Chin finally arrived in a big city. If her memory didn't fail her, she was currently entering X city, the city of all famous academic institutes and owner of the biggest library in this country. It would be a lie to say, that she wasn't a tad excited to visit a place filled with this much knowledge. Although she usually preferred to research most things herself, undertaking numerous adventures and following her whim, she'd still sometimes come to places like this, hoping to understand something, she herself couldn't figure out with mere observation. Thinking about the mystery she had yet to figure out and her coincidentally wandering around near this city, she decided it was about time to make a trip there. Approaching the inner part of the city, she wasn't disappointed as the bustling marketplace enclosed by pompous buildings on both sides came into view. It wasn't her first time visiting this city, but she hadn't been here for a long time and during her stroll into the inner parts of the city, she had already noticed a lot of changes made in her absence. Just as she took in her surroundings, appreciating the lively scenery, a sudden, loud cry rang through the marketplace.
"You bastard, how dare you!"
