Bewildered, Bo Chin surreptitiously looked from the man lying on the ground to the man standing before her. As the seconds flew by, she felt cold sweat flowing along her forehead down to her cheek. When she looked into the crowd of people, now surrounding her as well, she noticed that she wasn't the only one shocked silly by the incident. it all happened so fast, that only the people directly beside the man lying on the hard ground could even react fast enough to step aside. everyone else had no choice but to stare at him dumbfoundedly. Contrary to Bo Chin's expectations though, it wasn't Chen lying on the ground and covered in blood. It was the guy screaming at him proudly just a moment ago. She honestly expected it to be the other way around, so one could say that rather than being surprised by the incident itself she was more surprised by the outcome of it. At that moment though, she saw the other guys from the rowdy group looking at Chen as if they wanted to devour him. In Bo Chin's mind, Chen seemed like a chicken served on a silver plate facing the muscled bunch. Despite their leader, who was currently rolling in pain before her, speaking and looking like any other typical second-generation rich scholar the group backing him up didn't seem to fit that category. They rather seemed to be part of a martial arts department. Seeing this, Bo Chin reacted before they could, she made her way to grasping Chen's wrist before making a run for it through the still befuddled crowd. Running away from the incident, Bo Chin reflected on the last time she exercised, cursing her past self for not preparing her for something like this. Nonetheless, driven by the commotion following her from behind, she didn't look back and kept running through the crowd and into a maze of back alleys, turning as much as possible without going in circles.
When she deemed them to be in a safe position, she slowed down and released the hand she grasped before turning around to face Chen. To her surprise though, instead of the face of Chen, she came to stand before an object resembling a stick wound into a piece of cloth. the blood flowing into her face from the getaway drained from her face in lightning speed as she realized that she failed to grasp Chen's wrist and instead took whatever it was that was lying before her. She was unsure if she wanted to laugh or cry about the situation she was currently facing. Just as she wanted to take a closer look at the object before her, a man she recognized to be Chen ran up to her with heavy breathing. As soon as he saw her, his pacing slowed and he pointed a finger at her while panting heavily. "You-", before he continued, he steadied himself with his hands on his knees seeming to almost collapse. After a few deep breaths, he raised his trembling finger again and once again cried. "You scoundrel, you! Why did you take my-" In the middle of his raging lament, he seemed as though he came to a realization and suddenly shut his mouth. Back there, surrounded by the crowd and involved in a confrontation, Chen was surprised when he suddenly got his treasured sword stolen. He had been sure that he could take on the bunch that seemed ready to attack him anytime, with his sword, just as he did a few times before as well. Without the sword, however, things turned a lot more dangerous for him. So even in his bewilderedness, he still reacted quick enough and started chasing after it. When he finally caught up to the supposed thief and saw a familiar face fixedly staring at his sword lying on the ground and then up at him, he put two and two together and had a hunch on what actually happened. The sword was mostly still tied up in the cloth and by the look on the other person's face, Chen came to the conclusion that the other most likely hadn't wanted to grasp the sword and instead maybe Chen himself. As he thought so, he started chuckling lightly before breaking into a mad cackle as Bo Chin would describe it if she ever had to. Though Bo Chin was glad, that Chen didn't seem to take her mistake badly, it would have confused her less if he continued yelling at her. After everything calmed down, Chen started slowly walking up to Bo Chin and picked up his sword. He dusted off the remaining dust on the cloth and took light steps to reach the point in front of Bo Chin.
With a wide smile, Chen grasped Bo Chin's hand and with exaggerated strength and enthusiasm while spouting seemingly friendly words to her. "Ah, so we meet again. As it seems, it's heavenly destiny that compels us to meet."
