Leaving her students to practice alone, Sana was holding the 'unlucky' boy in her arms as she made her way to the physician. Despite being watched by the villagers she didn't show any embarrassment at all. Her firm steps and sharp eyes were enough proof that she was an independent woman. There was literally no chance for them to curry favor nor even speak to her.
The villagers could only speak among themselves as they watched her action.
"What an honorable young lady."
"Yeah, she looked like the ultimate teacher, not differentiate anyone, even a cripple."
"Hush! Don't say that word! Do you want to be beaten by Old Jing?!"
"Tch! I don't know if he is lucky or unlucky, not being able to cultivate yet getting the strongest backup the village could offer."
Their chattering didn't affect Sana as much as it affected Sein. The boy in the arms of the beauty had his eyebrows twitch when he heard what the villagers quietly said.
"I know you're awake Sein, just wait for your punishment later."
Sein immediately gulped a chunk of saliva. He knew he couldn't fool the teacher but after measuring the prize and the risk, he chose the former.
(Is this worth a broken tooth? Yeah it is!) thought the boy as he kept his eyes shut.
Before long, they arrived at the physician's house. It was a simple house with a light level of a garden in front of the door. The pots were hanging on the walls as they gave out a nice smell of the variety of flowers. There was nothing extraordinary though his profession was highly respected in the cultivation world.
"Mr physician, sorry to intrude your research, this boy needs your help."
The door slowly opened as a middle-aged man looking in mid-forties revealed himself in front of them. He had thin facial hair and slicked black hair on top of his head. Chiseled face and a well-built figure were perfected by the ever kind gaze his eyes gave out.
He raised his eyebrows as he recognized the boy in her arms. He couldn't be any more familiar with the youth as he was the one who gave the bad news to Old Jing. Looking at the only patient he couldn't cure, made his heartache. The supposed to be a talented boy in front of him was cursed by the gods. He averted his gaze toward Sana before saying, "Please step inside and lay the boy on the available bed."
"Oh, and don't call me by my profession, just call me Leam, haha."
Sana shyly nodded before putting Sein on the bed.
"Alright, I will go back and tend with the others, so don't be a brat and get well soon."
Sana took a slight bow toward the physician, "I will leave him in your care, Mr. Leam."
Leam smiled at the young woman before he saw her left the house in a hurry. Glancing back at the boy who pretended to be unconscious he shook his head before his thumb pressed the bruise on his chest.
"AAH!"
Sein immediately jumped out as he glared at the mischievous physician. He couldn't believe this old man would act like a kid as he heard his laugh.
"C'mon, just sit on the chair, I know you are not dying and taking advantage of the beauty, I expect no less of your pervertedness. I wonder who you got it from, must be in your blood hahaha!"
Sein sat down on the nearby chair before replying, "It's worth the risk."
Leam grinned at his response before flicking his finger and a pill magically popped out from the ring attached to his pinky. Sein blinked several times as he before the physician threw the pill to his hands.
"This is called a spatial ring, Sein. It costs a fortune just to get one of this."
"So like, that ring can store things?"
"Roughly so, but depending on the grade, the space inside also varies."
Suddenly, his nose was bleeding before he quickly wiped it out and said with a grin, "Then, then, I can store, like,"
"Yes, yes you can, however, you cannot store a living being inside," sighed the physician at the boy's mind.
"Heh? Why not?"
"Because of many reasons, one is because the space is not big enough, second because you cannot breathe in there, others, well, they are too complicated for you to understand."
"Well, that's a shame, if such a spatial ring existed, I could hide in there whenever I want when I snuck- I mean chased by criminals."
Leam had black lines over his head before saying, "I don't know if you believe in legends or not, but according to the famous story, the ring existed."
Sein raised one of his eyebrows before gulping the pill in his hand.
"One of the Divine Items, the Yggdrasil ring. Legends said that there was a 'supreme' tree living inside it, creating its own world. Well, that is as far as legend went explaining it."
"Hmm? So like, the Divine Item is not the ring, but the tree?"
Leam immediately rubbed his chin. He never thought of it like that before but the possibility of Sein's opinion to be true couldn't be ruled out.
"Oh, did I say something wrong?"
"No, you didn't say something wrong, it's just that I never would have thought that you and your pervert nature actually got a really sharp mind."
"Thank you, well at least for the latter half."
"Hahaha! Don't fret, it's an honest opinion from a well-respected physician, anyway, have you been taking the pills I sent you?"
Sein looked dejected before he answered, "Yeah, but I notice no changes."
"I see, sorry to hear that, but don't lose hope yet! I ordered a special pill from the capital just for you, I'm sure that you would be cured with that pill!"
"What? Really?! Alright!" Sein immediately got his spirit back as he punched the air.
Leam smiled as he looked at the boy's mood came back. He was thankful that the boy didn't loom in despair and instead, living on hope.
