Zick was a bit irritated on how slow Amila was walking. All day long, inside the operation room, he had been standing. Even when he examined a laying patient he had been standing. He had been dying to sit down and stretch his long legs since he stepped out of the entrance of the hospital.
She thought that this was how a celebrant should ascend the stage, slowly and slowly.
Everyone was fascinated by the celebrant. Mostly the elders who are her parents' close friends. Zick and Amila were both wearing moss-green matching suit and gown. Amila's gown was an off-shoulder A-line tulle long formal evening gown. Her Moreno skin was glowing with the help of the lighting and her long black hair was flowing behind her back.
They slowly reached the center stage where you could find two chairs with a palace-y look. (The chairs were slightly decorated as king and queens throne, wherein the celebrant would sit on the king's throne and the escort on the smaller one.)
"Fatima's son looks perfectly good with our Amila. They look perfectly well together!" One of Amila's maternal aunt exclaimed.
"Is he still single? Why don't we play a match matching cupid to combine the Alcantaras and our family?"
"Their future baby will become the most beautiful and handsome creature on earth."
Zoey heard the preceding comments of Amila's maternal and paternal relatives as to how perfectly her brother fit Amila. She wanted to laugh out loud but decided to respect their opinions. To stop the giggle that was threatening to erupt she pinched her arm so hard that it became bloody red. It so happened that her dad who was overly protective of her ever since he heard Nickel addressing her as his 'babe' saw her arm.
"Did a mosquito bite you?" He asked his daughter and suddenly turned to his wife and asked, "Fatima where is your insect repellent spray?" and again said to Zoey "Your arm has been bitten by an insect and you haven't even noticed it?"
Zoey wanted to slap her forehead real hard as her dad was scolding her mom for what she had done. "I'm an okay dad! No need to fuss about it."
Mr. Alcantara didn't listen to his daughter and continued to spray the repellent on his daughter's arm.
When Zick and Amila reached the stage the masters of ceremony started to welcome everyone. The party went well as what was planned. Everyone was merry except for one couple sitting at the farthest to the left side of the hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Dolores was also invited to tonight's event. Mrs. Dolores was trembling from anger and disappointment when she saw Zick entered the hall with his family.
"What is Zick doing here? Didn't our daughter tell us that she would stay the night at Zick's house to watch movies with his family?"
Given that Dolores and Alcantaras were both close to each other and considered each kid as their own, Mrs. Dolores never worried about her daughter when she was under the care of the Alcantaras. They trusted them very much.
"As I remember, yes our daughter mentioned it before." Mr. Dolores reassured his wife.
A week earlier to that day, Mr. and Mrs. Dolores asked their daughter's schedule to see if they could squeeze a night from their daughter's busy schedule.
"Honey, can you go with mommy and daddy on Saturday night? We will attend a friend's daughter's birthday party." Mrs. Dolores calmly and sweetly asked her daughter who was flipping a magazine in their living room.
"Pardon, On Saturday? Sorry mom but I already said agreed with Zick and Zoey to stay at their house to watch movies." Even if Zick disagreed with her for using his name as an excuse to her parents she still proceeded to use the same lie over again.
"Is that so, honey? Can't you guys reschedule it to another day as mommy wanted to be with her baby girl on Saturday night?" Mrs. Dolores still tried to pursue Eya.
Unfortunately, it was a shame that she already said yes to Dennis who planned their night a month ago.
Dennis knew despite her age how strict her parents were when he decided to know her more and asked her to have a date. He needed to plan it and so had asked her in advance about it.
