"Three died and fifteen injured at the explosion that happened at Comida en Casa. Victims were all admitted to St. Raphael the Archangel. Doctors are continuously monitoring the condition of the victims especially the five children involved in the explosion."
Zoey was watching an afternoon teledrama when breaking news flashed on the television screen. She gasped as she saw the aftermath of the explosion and clips of the victims who were screaming because of the pain. "Oh, God!"
Zoey pitied the children the most as they were too young to be exposed to how dangerous this world could be. She was attentively listening to the news when Manang, her nanny since she was three years old, tapped her shoulder and said, "Zoey there is another delivery for you. What should we do now?"
Ever since the day of Shane's wedding, Michael had been constantly sending her gifts such as flowers, chocolates, stuff toys and some of her favorite food at her house. Although, she already mentioned to him that she wasn't interested to be with him again. Michael shamelessly pushed himself towards Zoey so that she changes her heart.
All the things Zoey received she either threw it away if it was inedible or gave it to the housekeepers if not.
"From whom?"
"Do you still need to ask?" Manang nonchalantly replied to her.
It confirmed that the package sent to her was again from Michael. Zoey wanted to pull her hair out as she didn't know how to stop him from bothering her.
"Manang kindly throw it out after signing the package receipt. Thank you." She requested to Manang as she didn't even want to take the pains to check it first before disposing of it.
Manang nodded and walked away straight to the main door. After receiving the flowers she called one housekeeper and asked her to throw the bouquet in the backyard trash bin. The housekeeper thought that it was a waste as the flowers were very beautiful. She wanted to keep it instead but was afraid to ask Manang about it. She had seen the other flowers that Miss Zoey had been receiving for the past week. She knew all of them either went straight to the bin or Manang threw it to the fire. She didn't know the back story of the young Miss as she was just new to the household. All along they thought that Mister Zick was an only child of Mr. And Mrs. Alcantara.
The Alcantara household didn't display pictures of their children very often. There was just a portrait of the old Mr. And Mrs. Alcantara and painting of a cute baby girl. The baby girl looked like Mrs. Alcantara, so they assumed that it was her baby picture hanging on the walls of the main living room.
Manang was about to close the door when a familiar figure appeared on their residence gate. The man stopped himself from pressing the doorbell when he saw Manang looking at him. He greeted her kindly and his smile was from his ear to ear hoping that Manang would bring him to his happiness by making it possible for him to see her.
"What do you need?" Manang unemotionally asked. She was throwing him deathly stares as she didn't want to see him after all these years due to what he had done to her lovable Zoey.
"Hi Manang, I just wanted to talk to Zoey if you don't mind?"
"I don't mind. But I won't allow it either. Go home and don't waste my time here." Manang shut the door so loudly that it made Zoey who was inside the house jump from surprise. When Manang entered the living room, Zoey wanted to ask what happened, but she was afraid of Manang's deathly aura, the aura that she used to use on her when she did not listen to her in childhood.
Zoey looked at the young housekeepers waiting for them to ask Manang about her weird behavior. Even they took a step backward as they were all afraid of being scolded by her. Zoey dismissed her thought of pestering Manang. Suddenly her phone rang it was an overseas call.
