'Huh?'
I was sure I fell asleep. But what the heck I am seeing? Gacha System? Good god, can't believe my addiction for gacha games was able to transmigrate with me.
As I was complaining, a cold, robotic voice suddenly spoke.
[This isn't a dream, Matthew]
'Who was that!?' I looked around my dream, but all I saw was that familiar, yet unfamiliar, floating game UI(User Interface).
[I am the Gacha System. As this is your first time using the Gacha System, an introduction video had been prepared in advance. Would you like to play the video?]

'Uhhhh. Isn't there like a long-ass greeting on how I got here and this system? Just a few minutes ago, or so I think, I was still on earth.'
[Everything will be explained in the introduction. Would you like to play the video?]
'I guess I don't have a choice right? Ok. System, play the video'
Flash! It was like a switch was flipped, and I was suddenly transported to a bright room. To be exact, it was like one of those classrooms in college. There was a table and a computer in front where teachers were supposed to seat at, and rows of neatly arranged chairs for students to do whatever they want. There was also that projector attached on the ceiling as well that no one could normally reach without standing on a chair.
The only thing different was that if you looked outside through the glass windows, you would be able to see the usually starry skies when you look up at night on earth.
As I was admiring the scene outside, the projector suddenly started to turn on and began to show an image of and old man.
"Ehem, ehem! Can you hear me?"
I turned around to look at the source of the sound and saw an old man standing at the front. Yep, standing. I was expecting that the 'video' was in 2D. Well, I've already received more surprises in the past few minutes than I could have ever gotten in the past.
"Yeah, old geezer. I can hear you perfectly fine" not like he could hear me or anything.
"Who are you calling an old geezer, you damned brat!?" The old man shouted while glaring at me.
"!???"
'Wait, this wasn't a recording?'
"Of course not. This God, I, have left a wisp of my consciousness in your system so you should be thankful!"
"Wait, 'this God'? And how did you know what I was thinking?"
Seeing that I was at a loss, he began grinning.
"The system is a part of your soul, and I left a wisp of my consciousness in it. Long story short, I can access your mind however I want. The video was just an excuse so that you'd be willing to talk with an 'old geezer' like me " he begrudgingly added the last part.
'Holy shit! How the hell am I going to ma-' I stopped myself from thinking before the words in my mind could be completed.
"Hah! Afraid to beat your stick, huh? Don't worry about your weird fetishes being known by this God. I've seen through countless human's minds and believe me when I tell you that I've seen far more than a hundred of your generations combined" the old man crossed his arms and nodded to himself as though as he was satisfied seeing those countless people's lower halves.
I silently labeled him as a pervert in my mind.
"Hey! Don't just go labelling people as you wish! You— anyway, I didn't come here to argue with you. I've come here to tell you how and why I sent your soul to this world."
"Skip the 'how' part. You can tell me later. I'm more interested on 'why' you sent me here. If I can reincarnate, so that means other people can as well. But the thing I'm curious about is, does everybody have this sort of 'introduction'? And does everybody receive a so-called system like I do?"
The old man looked up at me from top to bottom, them smiled to himself. Brrr. It felt like chills went down my spine for no reason. It felt weird to be stared at by an old man.
"Ho. Not bad for being able to think up to that point. The answer to your question are:No and no. Only you have this sort of introduction and system with you. Truth be told, it is already amazing how you still retained your memories! Maybe it has something to do with the string..." the old man suddenly stopped talking. After a while, he spoke again.
"Ok. For starters, why did I bring you here? It is because your soul is somewhat special. You can say that you are 'gifted' in a way."
After hearing him praise me, or my soul to be exact, I suddenly had an itch to know what made mine so special. The old man immediately followed up with an answer as he was able to read my mind.
"Yours has an extremly strong Light of the Soul. It means that you have an extraordinarily, unbelievable luck. Now, now, now. You might think that this is great and all, but this type of luck practically defies the heavens! If others would get knowledge of what your soul is capable, they would stop at nothing to extract every ounce of your soul to make it their own"
"Wait! My luck is good? If you've already read my mind then that means you know all types of sh*t that has happened to me. My parents both left me for their own new families. I almost always get fired at the first day of any part-time job I land on because of some 'unfortunate' circumstances. And I can't even get a single 5-Star Character in a game I've been playing for years! Now if you tell me my luck is good, then everybody else has an even more heaven-defying luck!" I was so triggered that I ranted on the old guy. But what the heck he's a 'God' anyway so boohoo poor me for getting sh*tty luck.
"Well... before you died, a divine natural item, the Blue String of Fate, was tied to your soul for reasons I can't even explain. It only happens once every hundred generations of Guardian Gods. And I'll tell you now, one generation of a Guardian God converted in time, would be like how long a snail would take to crawl continuosly from one edge of the universe to another."
He started explaining to me about the 'wondrous' effects of this sh*tty ribbon. If it wasn't because of the Blue String of Fate, I would have enjoyed my life on earth. If the reason wasn't untied, then I wouldn't have to face the envy of the 'Gods'.
I had an impulse to curse at my so-called 'extraordinary' luck. With or without the stupid ribbon, I'm still facing some rather difficult situations.
'But wait. How did it get untied. Don't tell me..' I thought about it then slowly turned my head towards the old man. If looks could kill... who am I kidding, I'd just accidentally kill myself.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was my fault! I got curious on how much luck a person can accumulate for those many years on the Blue String. That is why I am doing you a favor." He slowly walked towards me then placed a hand on my shoulders.
"This is why I gifted you this Gacha System. Seeing from how much you liked Gacha Games, plus your newfound extraordinary luck, I sent my personal System to you. Though I had modified it to be what it is right now. This will help you enjoy life better, and hopefully help you reach the God level."
"Ok young lad. Time's up! I'll see you again whenever and if you want to ask questions, ask the system." I didn't even notice it, but he was already gone before I was able to say something. His last words still lingered in my mind before the sound of a notification replaced it.
