Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 - Seed of Sloth

"I wouldn't want to cause a ruckus by summoning a dragon inside a small cabin... and it would be too suspicious if I suddenly had a sword next to my pillow... so that leaves the Avatar, Materials, and Random"

After several thoughts, I've just decided to go with an Avatar summon.

"Better to improve myself first, don't want to die an early death... huh?"

Just as I was about to select the Avatar tab, the system suddenly spoke out again in its now cold, yet slightly more human-like voice.

[One-time event! Everything that are Random exclusive items have a 100% of showing up on the Random tab for the first summon! Note: The quality of the item will still not go above the Guaranteed 3★ Summon Ticket.]

'Isn't this system tempting me already? How could it not know that I absolutely cannot let go of an event like this?'

Without hesitation, I selected the random tab then used the Guaranteed 3★ Summon Ticket.

The Random tab suddenly emitted a golden glow, then the light slowly crept through the line connecting it to the circle.

After 3 seconds, when the whole circle was lit, several 'mechanism' looking marks suddenly spun continuously. It went faster and faster until my eyes couldn't follow the marks anymore.

The light on the circle became became even more dazzling as time went on while pulsating a brilliant white light.

Ding ding ding ding ding!

Sounds similar to the system's notification suddenly started going off. Afterwards, everything became still. The lights and sound were gone, as if nothing ever happened.

The middle of the circle produced a small orb of light that slowly went to me. I grabbed it, then took a look on what it was.

It was a seed.

"...what the heck? Do you expect me to start going green now?*"

[User can check an item's stats by thinking of 'Identifying' it]

"Ok. Identify!"

[ Cursed Seed of Sloth(3 ★)

When this items falls into the person's of a person, regardless of cultivation level, the seed will slowly go inside the person. Once the seed takes root inside a hosts heart, the curse will be then active.

Curse : The host will become unimaginably lazy that the host's motivation and will to move, talk, or do anything will be close to zero. The curse will last for 3 years.

When the host is able to live after the curse is gone, the host's willpower will exponentially increase.

Description: A failed curse of an evil God. An originally deadly curse can become the blessing of a person who can survive its trial. Others seek it, others dread it.]

My eyes bulged right after I finished reading the Curse part. I immediately looked at the seed that was originally on my hands, but it was now nowhere to be seen!

"F*ck! System! Get it out of my body! Ahhhhhh!"

[To expel a 3★ curse, user must spend 100,000 gems]

"..." I was tongue-tied. My face went from pale to red, then from red to black. When I wanted to start cursing the system, an urge to sleep(even though I was already sleeping) suddenly went to my entire being.

I battled the urge but to no available. The curse was too strong, I thought.

I blacked out from my dream.

———————————————————————

Three years later.

Inside a wooden cabin in a peaceful village.

"Mr. Jack! My Lady!" Matilda, who was inside the cabin, shouted towards the couple who were seating side by side on the garden.

The couple both had worry in their eyes. This worry was caused by their son. It wasn't because their Matthew was dying or anything, but it was because Matthew still hadn't said a word nor had he ever stood up up!

The first words Matthew had spoken, albeit what they had heard were baby talk, were the last words they had ever heard of him ever since. He wouldn't cry, laugh, murmur or anything.

Even though they tried to make him stand by holding him by his armpits, he would always limply 'fall' down.

Because of this, Matthew had always been sent to the village doctors. But whenever the doctors diagnosed Matthew, they would always tell the couple that Matthew was very healthy. 'Maybe the kid just needs to take time' is what they always tell them at the end.

Kids in their village would tend to talk and walk already at the age of 1. While the other villager's kids were already playing with each other, Matthew was still at home being breastfed by Claire. Some of the villagers even silently thought that their son was born a mind cripple.

Now that Matilda was shouting at them, they were even more worried that something might have had happened to their poor son.

But after looking towards the source of the voice, they could see Matilda holding the hands of boy, whose features were as delicate as a woman and whose skin was as white as pearls, standing right beside her.

"Matthew!" "My son" both Jack and Claire turned into a flash and immediately 'teleported' towards their son. Their speed were faster than what any human can accomplish!

"You can finally stand up! Boohoo, my son! I was so worried that *sniff* you wouldn't *sniff* ever get up!" Claire was already crying a river when she was hugging Matthew.

"My boy!" Jack just called him, but you can see that his figure suddenly got a bit taller, as though a heavy weight has been removed from his chest. He placed both mother and son in his embrace.

"Dad-ugkk! Mom is squeezing me to death. Ugk!"

Both Jack and Claire were surprised yet again. Matthew can now also talk!

The originally crying mom suddenly tightened her hug and cried even harder, while his Dad, for once, cried as well.

'My son isn't a retard! My son isn't a mind cripple' is what Jack is saying in his mind. If Matthew could hear his father's thoughts, he would definitely ask his mom for a new 'Dad'.

Matthew didn't know wether to laugh or cry at this scene, but he felt warm in his heart because he knew that his parents and Matilda had taken care of him even when he couldn't eat by himself or do normal things like others.
