Sasaki found herself a few moments later in another place, where realism was just as impressive. It was a simple forest, but she could feel every blade of grass touching her face, and hear the sound of the wind blowing in the leaves all around her. She felt like she was really in a forest, so it was quite disturbing.
The girl got up quickly trying to find her way. She knew nothing about the world of Alveola Online and she found herself in the middle of nowhere. Did she have access to a map, by the way ? Usually in MMORPGs there is always one...
How would she access all the windows that are normally displayed on a screen ? Inventory, friend list, quest log, market, and more ? Given the effort put into the realism of the game, she doubted to have access to simple windows as in other MMORPGs.
"Hey, by the way I don't even know what class he gave me, that idiot..." She thought, noticing that she had no weapons with her, and nothing to defend herself. If she was attacked, she could die even if she had just started... But the monsters could not be so violent from the beginning, no ? Her first opponents would probably be small animals almost harmless...
A girl's scream suddenly rang out among the trees, breaking the silence of the forest. It was a distress call, no doubt ! So it was a tutorial that would put her in situation ? She had to go help this person who needed her ! After all, in this game, she was the heroine who would save the world and help all the people she meets !
Sasaki ran quickly in the direction from which the scream was coming. After struggling for a few meters against the vegetation, she arrived at a clearing where a girl was surrounded by three wolves with shiny black hair, who did not seem to want her well.
She was quite small and looked young, younger than her at any rate. She was dressed in tight-fitting clothing that covered her entire upper body, descending to the top of her thighs and leaving the rest of her legs visible. She had then brown boots and gloves of the same color that made her hands look a little bigger than they should have been. Finally, her disordered brown hair covered parts of her thin, childish face, giving her a mischievous air.
"Oh, help... I'm going to die, it's terrible..." she said in a voice without any passion, like a bad actor. Sasaki approached the animals without thinking, with a smile on her face. It was more real than when she was right behind the screen ! She had the impression of risking her life ! But as a heroine, she could not leave a person in need ! Especially if it was a tutorial.
"You, come help me... Oh, these wolves will shred me..." The girl yawned just after finishing her reply. She did not seem to feel at all in danger, quite the opposite, which destabilized Sasaki who did not really know what to do, leaving a long embarrassing silence to settle in the middle of the clearing.
The ferocious wolves, grunting at the young stranger, then at Sasaki, were not moving, as if waiting for her to finally start the fight.
"Well, you're going to kill them, yes or no ? You have to save me, I need the help of a hero or I'm going to be eaten. And then there are other people waiting for you to play the tutorial so hurry up." Declared the girl, sighing. She was tired of replaying the same scene all day long. She too wanted to become a heroine, and not stay a victim.
"I... Well, you don't look really in danger, so..." No luck, it was probably still a weird NPC like the god she had met a few minutes before... What was this game in which non-player characters did what they wanted ? How was it possible ?
"I'm in danger, look at those hungry ferocious wolves..." The stranger sat on the floor sighing, clearly showing on her face that Sasaki's slowness was bothering her.
"Hurry uuuuup ! If you do nothing, I'll put my head in the mouth of the wolf !" She stood up abruptly, heading for one of the three motionless wolves and opened its mouth, revealing a row of sharp teeth more than realistic.
"Wait, wait, don't do it ! Are you stupid or what ? It's not that I don't want to help you, it's that I don't know how to do it..." Sasaki justified, who did not know how she could trigger her skills without a visible interface.
"Take out your weapon." The stranger ordered in a dry and impatient tone.
"I don't have one..."
"You must have magic then, try to cast a spell !"
"I... I don't know how to do it !" She retorted completely. Was she really supposed to know how to use those things instinctively ? She was starting to have a bad feeling.
"It's easy, though, you're really bad... What are these heroes now, I even have to teach them how to play ? I don't believe it..." the stranger squealed as she walked towards Sasaki to grab her arm. However, the expression of her face changed completely, and passed from impatience to surprise.
"Uh... You don't have magic, and you don't have any weapons, what are you ? Martial artist ? Wrestler ? Rikishi ? No, even they have magic... I have never seen a class like yours. The world hasn't been opened for a long time, but still. "
Sasaki froze on the spot hearing the words of the girl. No weapon and no magic ? How was she going to fight and progress in the game ? If she could not even complete the tutorial, it greatly compromised her future as a heroine... It was still the fault of that stupid god who had given her a crappy class !
